Brighton vs Chelsea

We were outplayed tonight. Maresca did not have answers. They nullified Palmer for most of the game. Nkunku struggled. Our bench options is so sad to see when you see how strong it was at beginning of season. We have the same team again on Friday. Not confident after what I saw tonight. We looked lost and in second half looked knackered.

Nothing against the lad but when you’re bringing on Tyrique George 1-0 away from home… you know the club has dropped off the edge of a cliff.

Everything Roman built has literally been destroyed in the space of 3 years.

It’s over guys. It’s actually over.

This isn’t an overreaction at all, so don’t even start with the negitive bullshit.

Unless the club has a miraculous change of strategy in the summer and go out and buy 4 senior proven players who have top level experience, which we all know they won’t …. It’s over.

Rationally speaking, there is no shame in losing at Brighton's home ground. it was never going to be an easy game the problem is what has been happening at the club since the arrival of the new board. you can't get excited about anything

Of course the bench is going to be weak.   Jackson, Guiu both out injured, Lavia & Fofana made of glass, Mudryk suspended, Felix loaned out for some reason with no replacement.

Not sure who else he was supposed to bring on?    There were only two choices, Madueke or George as we had no striker on the bench and Felix ran off to Milan.

Anyway, feel like the bigger concern for the rest of the season is actually in midfield as there's no rotation available for Caicedo or Enzo.

Walking around, losing, with 5 minutes left in the game. Azpi would have been hustling and screaming at anyone that wasn’t.

Thought the same. At the start we fly out the blocks, second half is so pedestrian, complete opposite of how we were under lampard, Potter, where the first half was always slow.

Tonight, with 10 minutes to go it was as if we were 3 up, sideways passing, no urgency, no leaders - that falls squarely at the owners, manager, club set up.

Sacking Maresca would do absolutely nothing. Start by looking at the players who are letting the team down so badly - and the even worse players who sit behind them who come in to replace them when they get injured, or finally dropped.

Ask yourself who bought those players, ask yourself who hired those people, and who created the strategy for the club. There is a clear line of accountability and responsibility there.

Maresca has for sure made mistakes but overall he is the only leader at the club that I trust at all other than Joe Shields.

The chance to sack him was before the window opened or just after. It makes absolutely no sense right now unless things became dire.

At this point, I serious hope those at the top are still bickering with one another, so an investor with some clue about the game comes in.

Plus bring in who?! There are so many issues at the club atm and the manager is just a small part of it..

Someone who isn't a novice would help. I personally don't see there being that many issues unless I'm blind to it.

If we signed a top quality CB, CF, and kept Petrovic in the summer, we might have actually been a competitive side.

I fear they've pulled him the rug out from under him with this transfer window.

There was an opportunity to back up an inexperienced manager with some decent quality squad reinforcements, and they bailed.

If this club doesn't make the CL spots this season., they could be doing away with him come season end.

That’s the point… £1.5billion spent and your only options are Madueke and George!!!

insane!

Enzo Maresca: “Being out of the FA Cup, it’s a shame. No doubt”.

“If there is something positive, we can be focused on the Premier League and the Conference League. Hopefully we can continue our journey there”.

Who in their right mind says something like that when managing Chelsea FC.
