The Next Manager?

Never knew you were the inner conscience of Diego Simeone. It's a pleasure to meet you.

Lol mate, it's just as absurd to say Simeone won't leave Atletico than it is to say he will.. Eventually he will grow tiresome of the tedious battle against the spending power of Madrid and Barca

Don't let it get to you mate. It's the response these guys want which is weird because it's not usual to want to wind up fellow Chelsea supporters.

Or maybe I'm wrong and they'll all start an Emenalo chant in Brogans before Watford....that would be truly hilarious.

Lol come on man, liven up..

Hiddink is probably perfect for the job now, a team at rock bottom, his relaxed approach and freedom of playing im sure will get a reaction out of the squad.

However if he recovers this season to respectable levels in the league and wins the FA Cup and if we're incredibly lucky the CL, he should leave it there, will he have the hunger to start from scratch at 70? And also we have seen with Dalglish, Advocaat and RDM that amazing 'save us' interim spells don't usually translate to the form continuing when they get the full time gig, and it will kill me if Hiddink has another great interim spell only to have a horrible shot at it full time.

why do people think Simone, by default, best suits Chelsea? It's not only Chelsea fans but everybody else and the media also think like that ... like, its only normal for Chelsea to play pragmatic, dumb, unimaginative footie, that's where Chelsea belongs... wtf?

pretty sure it's David Moyes. <<gollum!>>

Does anyone know what transpired between January 2013 and May/June 2013 regarding Jose and Pep (Chelsea and Bayern)?

In any case, Guardiola's fine for me even though I don't call myself a fan (yet).

I would tend to agree on the rough idea that Chelsea need almost 10 new players if you break it down like this: 2-3 new fullbacks, 2 new CBs, 2-3 new CMs, and 2 strikers. I guess one is Koke, another will be Stones.

Anyone been watching Gaya at Valencia? I've not bothered with La Liga (again).

If Hiddink does well, I wouldn't mind continuing the dutch connection with someone like Koeman as permanent manager.

Maybe not you but there are clearly members on the wind up with this Emenalo shit. They don't like him but they know it'll get the backs up of most Chelsea supporters who think the guy is part of the problem at THEIR club.

If we want to follow the Barca model, this makes more sense than hiring Pep to do so. Install Hiddink as technical director and build a new philosophy of football. It'll take time, patience and a commitment to something new (which reduces the chances of it happening immediately) but it would be a long-term plan.

As Pep likes inteligent and technical players IF he's going here I think we should make a following changes :

GK : Thibaut is all right but if he wants better ball playing gk then it looks like Ter Stegen is available

DF : Christensen is a must-have as he's very good ball playing DF. New CB to partner him. New RB as I think he won't fancy Azpilicueta technical skills.

MF : New CM. Musonda would play big role under Pep I think as he's tactically and technically excellent with crazy ball skills and ball retention. Wonder what will happen with Fabregas.

AM : only like for like replacement for Oscar if he won't perform in the next 6 months. Like him or not, he's one of the most intelligent players in our squad off the ball so if he will perform he would stay under Guardiola

CF : definitely new striker needed. Benzema could be available as Real will chase Lewandowski. Benz is one of the most technical strikers around.

All in all I think about 4-5 players plus two youngsters in Christensen and Musonda. 10 players is definitely overboard.

Actually if you think about it even Man City needs 4-5 players for the first XI to appease Pep.

I don't know him so well, I think @CHOULO19 could answer this question for you.

I think he's a great manager to rebuild a squad and install a certain system. But he's incredibly stubborn and will likely create tensions inside the club. You're either on his good side or you're screwed. Tactically he's good but very rigid and will rarely accommodate the opponents. To be completely honest, I think managing internationally suites him better than managing at club level.
