While I think from Nags point of view it makes sense to turn us down as the job would come too early for him, he would be mad to join spuds instead. Honestly I d rather explain some yank amateurs how football works than be enchained by stingy Levy

Hardly too early 🤣 Your post really just screams the typical if he goes to Spurs he isn’t good enough for us mentality - which is ironic d considering the fact we are basicslly hiring an ex Spurs manager specifically for what he did at Spurs.

On Nagelsmann - I mean its fair to say he was maybe harshly sacked from one of the best and biggest jobs in world football - which he deserved to be in. We did consider him so its not like the club felt he wasn’t ready for the job in some degree - they just weren’t willing to give him the control he wanted by the sounds of it (Enrique also).

It’s also clear he wont get full control at Spurs so maybe it won’t happen (hopefully). I mean they wouldn’t give ‘box office’ managers like Mourinho and Conte more control for whatever reasons (some may be right some may be wrong) with Levy there so can’t see it changing.

It does seem a bit ridiculous we basically hired some major cogs of the RB model to implement it, only to basically either be rejected by or reject their most successful clubs golden boy manager though.

I guess we know why he's refused to join us. On the other hand, I don't think a 35 y.o. manager that is still to prove that he's top class has the right to ask for such things, especially since there're so many new football people in our structure now.

You have to be Guardiola-level to afford asking for full control at a club like Chelsea.

Tbf it depends on the owners. And their model.

If the new model was proven to work and was successful, you could at least justify it but it doesn’t and if it doesn’t again - then it has to be questioned why aren’t we given them more of a say/more control?

Just look at Klopp’s transfers at Liverpool. Ok we can’t get our main target this window, don’t buy anyone else and we will go again next time. Thats proof of a manager getting total control and it being successful.

Plus then theres the clusterfuck of idiots running the show above. That much is clear.

How is that clear? They got a manger appointment wrong? So what every club in the world has done that atleast 10 times over or is it because some bloke on twitter says they go in the dressing room? Or because a video of Todd walking over the field means he's going to give his aftermath speech? You realise when Roman first took over this club he was in the dressing room alot?  Do you even remember when ken bates used to go into the dressing room and basically pick the squad? I get your a little upset at the owners but this "I'm going to cry the loudest and be the angriest man on the server to show i am a proper fan" act is getting a tad boring now. Was different when we signed Enzo, he was the best thing since sliced bread. Reality check, the club is not dead it's not fucked and is deffo not going to be ruined. This year has been a transition period, it's shown off and on the field, if you can't handle one bad season under these circumstances of how and why the club had to be sold in the first place and what effects came with that, then the next few years are going to be torture for you.

I would prefer to think that they are very good business men that got a little cocky with all the success they have had with the Dodgers and thought they could just come in and own the league. They are finding out the hard way it is not going to be that easy and they will adapt....or it will be a very long ten years.

Didn't Klopp want Brandt and Edwards opted for Salah?

Also could of sworn there was more than one situation like that with Klopp/Edwards.

That's true but their general model of waiting and suffering the short term agony is one i really wish we would adopt.

I said all through summer 2021 we should have rolled with the same squad due to lack of options out there and like magic our two signings proved a disaster. This one admittedly is more hindsight on my part but we also should have just signed Fofana and Sterling (Enzo also if we had enough time post the owners arrival to gazump Benfica) then regrouped with a more settled structure.
