Can't find the report but Enrique wanted to join immediately to go for it against Real Madrid and also see the squad before the summer but owners wanted process selection and talks with candidates.

Would've liked to try Kompany before Potter happened but as of now I think we need a safer option and Pochettino ticks the boxes. We probably won't win trophies under him but right now we need immediate stability and I think he can deliver that. He was my 2nd favorite after Nagelsmann above Enrique so I'm okay with him.

Poch did better than Mou and Conte at Spurs. He came closer to winning trophies than they did. Over his time there - they averaged the same amount of points domestically that we did...

This team - once we get a number 9 - will be better than any team he has managed at Tottenham. Poch has proven to be able to play attacking football and develop young talent. He has some of the best young talent in the world at his disposal here. I think he can do plenty here - and win trophies.

How did Conte fail? He turned around Spuds mid way through last season, and he couldn’t accept such mediocrity from such a lose club.

Honestly this speaks volume about Poch and Spuds, that they are perfect match. Okay with not winning anything, just staying somewhat competitive.

That is harsh. It is incredibly hard to win a trophy as Chelsea itself has found out in the recent past. Cannot assume every manager who's operating in the level below the Man City's of the world is okay with not winning anything.

I just hope Enrique, Naggelsman and Poch weren't just smoke and mirrors.. and I hope that their real candidate is not some buffoon yes-man.

With their track record. Who knows.

They're probably looking at Rodgers too.

Club pushing the view that Enrique made quite a few demands.

Nagelsmann too was cautious about the powerplay within the club and had concerns over recruitment and club structure.

It will be Rodgers or the guy from Feyenoord.

Feel like the mystery candidate would be a safe bet like Mourinho, he knows how to get a team to win.

> Pochettino, Kompany and one highly-rated candidate whose identity Chelsea have managed to keep secret.

> Nagelsmann was still being spoken about as a prominent name on a four-man short-list earlier on Friday. Then, later in the day, he was considered to be no longer in the frame.

> Nagelsmann met Chelsea officials recently for an initial round of talks held outside England. The sense was that those discussions went well. There were plans for a second meet-up in London though that did not materialise as Nagelsmann decided Chelsea were not right for him.

> He ultimately had some doubts about the set-up he would be joining. He made the decision to pull out on Thursday — even if it took 24 hours for that to become public knowledge.

> Chelsea sources dispute this and say Nagelsmann was not favorite. They decided he was not quite the right fit — a conclusion they reached unanimously.

> Pochettino impressed in talks and has mentioned a few of the players from the current squad that he would like to be part of his plans next season if he is granted the chance to take over.

> Kompany appreciated for his leadership skills, third candidate is reputed for his tactics in a lesser league, is least likely candidate.

> Luis Enrique talks were positive but club had concerns he's not managed in the league or at club-level for a while.

I mentioned in the post above we were top by some margin under Tuchel before vital players got injured.

Poch was at spurs between 2014 and 2019 His targets during those years weren't to win titles. I'll reiterate that any appointment will be asked to win titles within 16–24 months, which is something I can't see Poch being able to deliver.

Yet he came just as close as us apart from the 1 season we did won the title.

I mean I don't blame him! Fans have those concerns sooooo only right someone taking a job would have them too

I hope we appoint someone very soon, but am glad the club have taken their time and not just panic appointing someone like Potter again.

Do think they should appoint someone soon tho so at v minimum they can be watching all games in person and observing some training sessions. We need their help for the clear out.
