Get our guy now

From what I understand, the interim solution only comes into play if "our guy" is not willing to come in immediately.

It is not that bad of a strategy to secure the new manager and finish off the season having an interim in charge.

It takes off a lot of weight from the new manager's shoulders.

This strategy has worked quite well for us back in 2016, when Conte arrived after Hiddink took care of the end of that 2015-2016 season.

I guess. But I’d rather not have the interim be Frank if we must have one. Get someone in with no emotional ties to the club.

Valuable time lost imo. Takes managers months to really learn the squad, we hear it from managers all the time. If we delay until summer, our new manager doesn't know the squad properly until Christmas, probably.

I think there is not so much between the people available that we would wait until summer, one of them will be ready to go immediately and that will be a key screening question in interviews.

Also, like all big clubs we tend to run pretty shitty preseasons from a prep perspective, as commercials are the main focus. This is time they can use for prep before preseason, so that by the time next PL campaign starts our players have been drilled well.

Lamps was sacked here and we instantly improved. He was sacked at Everton and they instantly improved.

He just isn’t a PL manager at this point in his early managerial career. He needs to go back down to the Championship for a few seasons, build up his reputation again, and then perhaps get another PL job at a small club.

Having seen our board make some super silly managerial decisions over the past year I don’t even want there to be a 1% chance that they “fall in love” with Frank and give him the job permanently.

Pros of each candidate so far:

Poch-Knows the league, has a good record of developing young talent.safest  pick of the candidates due to only one whose spent any time coaching in England.aside from front 3 our squad has more talent than he’s coached before.despite the press saying we are a club with big ego’s etc.. in our squad.we don’t,we haven’t since the likes of Costa,Courtois and before them even more so with Drogba,Ballack,Lampard,JT etc..he’s coached players with even bigger ego’s than the latter.he’s only won trophies with PSG and although not the one they really want, but same is true with Pep at Man City.he coached Tottenham with tightarse Levy to massively overachieve.

Enrique-managed with success at a big club, system suits our current squad ( if our front 3 can score more) despite being at Barcelona his system is quite different to Pep’s.history of over tinkering in past but hopefully learnt from having more success when he didnt. I don’t really consider what his record as international coach was…nobody would put Southgate as a top 5 coach in the world despite his top 3 record at international level.

Nagelsmann: tactically astute, has coached at a big club, atleast when media calls our head coach young they would be accurate rather than keep hearing it about a 47year old. Inexperience only a concern to me in regard to of English football, but same applies to all candidates but Poch.

i don’t see waiting till the summer as a way of getting much more options really..is only Carlo who might be available that is good enough to add to the mix.

We need Nagelsman, he can develope young talanted players! Enrique didnt made anything impressive bar the Barcelona prime MSN time with Iniesta..

Even i can coach that team..
