Unionjack 7,531
New twist in Chelsea chase for Maurizio Sarri as deadline date revealed Chelsea would have to sign Napoli boss Maurizio Sarri before May 22 if they intend keeping the current compensation demand the same, according to Sky Italia. http://www.chelsea-news.co/2018/05/new-twist-chelsea-chase-maurizio-sarri-deadline-date-revealed/
Fernando 6,585
Making up story. Nothing concrete it seems. Hopefully Conte stays.
Superblue 6,372
There's reports coming out of Italy today that Sarri will sign a new contract with Napoli. Doesn't look like there is much out there that fills me with optimism and excitement.

It's too big 625
Sarri may stay, but it will also depend if Chelsea offer him a better contract.
Pizy 18,897
Pochettino would be unbelievable but unless we offer him the moon and the stars I don't think it's possible. We'd have to not only give him a huge budget but we'd also have to sell him on the idea that we want to change as a club. If Sarri isn't available, Allegri (who I don't believe is even an upgrade on Conte at all) and now that Tuchel are off the table I think we'd be best off just sticking with Conte for another season and hope our summer recruitment is great. There isn't a real standout candidate that I feel would do a better job. lucio, Supermonkey92, Fernando and 1 other

Fernando 6,585
Yes that is the best thing for conte to stay. I said it all along. Change the trend of the club and future managers will notice this. Supermonkey92 and Blusan Alamb

My biggest worry about that is that Conte has been so unmotivated and unenthusiastic this season. Is he going to just go through the motions again? Or would keeping him be a huge sign by the board of more longer term thinking and Conte would kick on with the sign of board confidence? If Sarri isn't happening, the only other one can be Luis Enrique. It's funny because it was almost assumed he was a 'lock' for next season and it has gone eerily quiet since. Maybe that's because he's already set up and in place once the cup final is done and dusted. Fernando

Maybe that's because he's already set up and in place once the cup final is done and dusted. Maybe. We'll find out on Saturday. If he's still the manager come Sunday morning, then he's staying. I'm concerned as well. It's really a catch 22. I'd like to build a club philosophy, and stick with a manager. But, it has to be the right one. For all the talk of "work" and "fight", this team has been absolute dog shit since the turn of the year, and I'm talking about effort as well as results. If we are staying with Conte, what are we building towards? Suffering without the ball, even against newly promoted sides and relegation fodder? Pizy 18,897
Luis Enrique rumors heating up again. I just don't see how we play Barca style football without a massive overhaul of the squad. He would be a gamble on the level of AVB. It's a risk that's too great for me.
Sideshow Luiz 2,310
Rather keep Conte than get Enrique. I really don't see the allure of Enrique. Unless we are getting Neymar, Messi, Iniesta (+ time machine) as well. Then, sure, he would be a good appointment. Given AC's actions this season keeping him is just as big a risk. Costa19
