This misconception of "easy" jobs is really annoying me tbh. 

If people think Pellegrini has an easier job than, say Toni Pullis, then they really should reconsider all the difference in pressure and expectations in both jobs. 

The teams avoiding relegation (not necessarily West Brom) do have pressure and expectations not to go down, but people don't give them as much stick as they would give to favorites when they don't achieve, and that's quite normal, because no matter how much small teams spend nowadays, the expectations and investement of the title favorites will always be higher, and thus less tolerant to failure. 

What are the two hardest jobs in club football at the moment ? Can anyone argue it's not Barcelona and Real Madrid ? Aka two teams within top 3 budgets in the world and with the best transfer appeal to world class players ? 

And the "Bundesliga is easy" excuse is just as wrong, Guardiola is really good at analyzing teams defensive weaknesses and coming up with out of the box offensive mechanics to break them up, that's why his sides always look this dominant in their leagues ( the only thing i can concede is that he had a supernatural footballer in his Barcelona days, which made it a bit easier as that dude gives his team an incredible aura due to his inevitable danger ).

He's a Barcelona man, managed Barca B before being promoted, so that doesn't count. Even then he took them to another level. Bayern is the only real example and it is not enough to make some kind of final judgement on his preferences. In fact he has only managed two clubs in his life, whatever way you look at it it is too small sample size to form any substantial conclusions. The fact he chose Bayern over us makes it sound like sour grapes more than anything.

If anyone thinks any manager could have trumped Real Madrid and Mourinho the way Pep Guardiola did, they are delusional. Guardiola took what Johan Cruyff implemented at Barcelona in the 80s and 90s and brought it to the next level in the modern game. He reaped that amazing youth system like no other manager before him, and cemented the ethos and philosophy Cruyff planted all those years ago. Only another person with the understanding of the club and it's philosophy could have done what he did.

Like Steve Holland said just after José was sacked, this is a club and a team that requires a manager of big stature and experience. "Seeing something new" would likely mean giving some up and coming young manager their big break.

If we have ambitions of getting back to challenging for the league and CL immedietly we need a world class, proven, highly experienced manager. If we hire some of these candidates that are being linked with us I can see them getting sacked within 1 season or a season and a half after failing to get our expensive, diva superstars to play up to their ability.

Simeone to me seems like the kind of guy that can build something long term, have a set style and philosophy, and have us playing like a well oiled (and tough as nails) machine. He has proven and is proving again this season that he can take an underdog who can't spend unlimited money and have them eye to eye with the juggernauts. We get him here where he has players he's already familiar and also let him spend a nice chunk of money in the summer and I think we bnce straight back into title contention.
