Was there any real great attacking play or patterns from Madrid tonight? Not really.

Other than Vini up against Fofana and James, both who he destroyed effortlessly, it wasn’t exactly as if Benzema or Rodrygo were fantastic, was it? They’ve played a lot better.

The first goal comes from a ball in between Silva & Fofana and the second comes from a set play. Nothing hugely technical where you go wow only so many players could do that.

Come on. Modric shot ? And Kepa was space age.
We approoached Courtois two times all in all (Felix 2', Mount 92').

''Chelsea have now failed to score in four successive matches in all competitions for the first time since November to December 1993. The Blues have not had a longer streak of competitive games without netting since a run of nine from March to May 1981.

They've also now lost more games than they have won in all competitions - 16 to 15.''

Wooo...

Madrid are awful, they will lose to whoever they get next. You watch them tonight and it’s get the ball to Vinicius or Rodrigo and what happens next happens. Only they are bailed out by having an elite no9 who scores every sniff he gets. Looks like all the players do whatever they want and zero structure at all. Which aligns exactly with what everyone says about don Carlo.

Against RM over there your best chance of escaping is not the clean sheet but to score goals.
We kept it at 1-0 then conceded one more when we were ten but we were spineless and impotent (which is the hallmark of Chelsea this season).

They can't lose to the Italians.
They will lose to Pep and everybody will lose to this year's Pep team.

Yes maybe so but what have the Italians got to do with anything? They cannot face them until past the next opponent so not sure why you keep replying to me?

The semis are City v. Real, Inter - AC Milan / Napoli.

Against RM tonight one could see plainly how awful our attack is, in terms of individual efforts, movement.
In the premier this is many times obscured because we have to play against brick walls of teams who park the bus and it's not obvious.
Tonight against Real you saw the snail pace, inability to do even basic things.
James too who was getting involved from the right wing had one of his worst games.

I think Kai should have started and I 'm afraid the great white hope Joao is proven to be inferior or just inferior to Kai.
Sterling no.
Mount from the beginning maybe or Mudryk who is fast, but that of course hardly fixes things as we already know.

I agree, but to be fair is in hindsight so easy to be a forum manager..

Yes ok.
I don't criticize Frank for using Felix but for me today's match proves conclusively he 's not one for the hall of fame.
About Sterling I do criticize him. We saw him all these months and Ziyech / Pulisic are better options.

Calling people forum managers for pointing out glaring, obvious flaws of a tremendously flawed team is a fail.

We had terrace managers, now forum managers.
We tend to avoid doing that yet some things are obvious.

I have to wonder how Kovavic is actually offering, as he certainly isn't helping us in midfield. Zakaria should be playing DMF allowing Kante to play further ahead.

It was more than an error, though. A decision that almost anyone could see would come back to haunt us from afar.

At the time most argued with my alternative suggestion for who to leave out instead.

Tbf to his post, if you compare this forum to the shed end, the amount of forum managers here is rather ridiculous.

The 3-5-2 rarely works.

Remember Tuchel and Conte using it vs City and it always led to the same problem - nowhere to go in attack.

Like yesterday - 5-6 defensive players surround 2 lightweight forwards - Felix and Sterling. The attack had Courtois in its sights maybe 3 times in the whole game - Felix, Sterling and Mount chances.

The plan was to park the bus but this squad was way too talented to be consigning ourselves to 2012 CL tactics.
