board want to keep him

Don't even have a full time manager in place - yet they want to push on with signings.

I mean there is potential with Felix yes but what happens if the manager doesn’t want him? Or wants his own players?

I mean there is a perception that Potter didn’t have much say in terms of recruiting, so if a deal for Felix is pursued without a manager actually being put in place, what sort of message does that send?

There has to be the right balance here because on the flip side to this one could easily argue the club has struggled for years to keep consistency for a title push because we've put together a mish mash of a squad under multiple managers, suited to a number of different styles and systems.

I agree that agreeing deals for players when a manager hasn't been appointed sends out the wrong signal (although at present we've no idea how close we are to a new managerial appointment and what their input might well be), but we've also hired a number of technical directors that are being paid to get all this decision making right for the club.

In my view both Kai and Felix have the same weakness: which in the area of work rate, team work, discipline. They both turn on and off on a dime, but I feel Felix is a bit worse here.

Felix is more skillful (quick feet) and creative, while Kai makes better runs and can, on occasion, even impose physically becoming a presence in the box (wish he were better at heading the ball tho).

They are also at the same age, which is a good and yet tricky age for a footballer at this level. It's hard to tell which one has the higher ceiling at this time. Kai happens to be our player, and Felix's availability is a big unknown.

I'd keep one, because I think it will be difficult to play both at the same time and they are big enough players who would demand to start. I'm unsure which one tho. Hope the club knows better.

If we can arrange another loan it would be amazing to see what Poch can do with him. 4 goals in a little over 1000 mins. Very unlucky not to have at least 4 more with all those posts he hit. Definitely outplayed big time Pulisic, Ziyech, Mount, Mudryk and pretty much all attackers we have in second part of the season.

Another loan would be fine, but I hope we don't pay over the odds to transfer

Still not convinced that he is a player that can actually deliver the goods, and isn't just all about style.

In the biggest moment of our season and his, in the match against Madrid where he was put through on goal, he blinked.

If we say that Mount is just stat padding against smaller teams, then this guy better produce double digit figures for goals and assists. And Mount has scored against Madrid.

I am not convinced on him at all. He is easy on the eye but shit end product. No ruthlessness.

What can I say.. Byebye.

Maybe we should take a break and not loan anyone from Atleti next season. Saul and Felix were enough, we had enough fun.

It’s crazy. Ex ante both looked like good additions.  Both players with sublime technique, probably on a higher level than most of our squad esp Felix but did not make much of an impact bc of mentality/killer instinct.

Not surprised.

A luxury player who yes has quality (inconsistently though) but his lack of intensity, commitment and competitiveness off the ball was always going to be an issue for Poch as well as his lack of end product.

Plus what is he? A 10? A second striker? A winger? A 9? Cholo and the Portuguese NT have tried him in multiple roles to very limited success. A lot of talent but yet to have a defined role that allows him to showcase it.

I posted a few pages back if we signed him without the managers say so it wouldn’t look good so for me, to see Poch has said no and we’re backing that opinion, it shows that there is a clear line of communication and planning with the footballing guys and Poch.

Plus Nkunku will effectively be his like for like replacement as it is.

Felix has all the skill in the world, no killer instinct or application it seems, a theme from AM to here. Needs a bit of grit and attitude.

I can see him ending up at Newcastle though.

I think he's more suited to United. A number of players that disappear when the going gets tough.

Shades of Lukaku about the situation, he was twerking so hard for us and then for Barca when we weren’t interested, totally fell out with his club to the point they would rather take the massive L on the transfer and loan him out repeatedly.

Wonder how many clubs he will end up playing for? Have a feeling Barca will be just another pit stop.
