Surely to god it's JN, and I'm not buying all this interim until the end of season, a new manager will be coming in the next week or so.

Agreed. It'll be a manager who can come in immediately otherwise they would've had him see out the season. Additionally, I doubt it is a manager who was available prior to the break, so that rules out Zidane, Poch and Enrique.

Only two managers fit this is JN and Conte. I cannot see the club going to Conte in a million years unless the board are p*ssed off with the players. So, it has to be presumed it is JN.

One thing I'm surprised about with the current interim position of Bruno is we've lost Potter, his main assistant and Barry is leaving too so it seems extremely light in this department, alongside someone given the reins with absolutely zero experience in that position.

I'm amazed the club hasn't looked to John Terry to perform something in this current set up for the rest of the season. He has some solid experience as an assistant manager at Villa and in a young group of players, he has the aura and a different voice in that dressing room that could get a reaction and shock out of this group. When we've lost three coaches in the setup and we're dealing with a stupidly large squad anyway, it seems silly not to make full use of resources at the club.

TB and Co are going to have to fucking nail this next appointment. I said the other I bet that JN had been sounded out as early as midweek last week and it's all about getting done.

Losing to Madrid won't hurt now as this season has been a fucking shambles

Its written in the stars..

JN comes in and we play Bayern in the semi final - the battle of the tacticians.
Mudryk to come on in the 70th minute pacing past Bayerns defenders and scoring the winner.

JN does the Mourinho rush to celebrate with the players and after the final whistle Tuchel fumming around while looking for JNs hand to squeeze.

It will be the funniest thing if Bruno Saltor beats Liverpool tomorrow .

We haven't got it in us t beat Liverpool, and as shite as they are right now they will have far too much for us, we can't even fucking score.

In fact I wouldnt be surprised if we win against Liverpool ... new manager could trigger a new style of play or just allow everyone to do what they want ... HOPEFULLY. There is talent in the team it is important how they are directed, Kante could be the missing piece if he manages to play.

I am not. He's well loved here, so it would be very hard to back off from his appointment.

Plus, no reason to do him dirty and throw him under the bus of 10 difficult games and falling out of Europe, pure scapegoat it would be.

So many conflicting reports. Reliable English guys saying we most likely won’t be making a quick appointment and will wait until summer, reliable Euro guys saying Nagelsmann could come in quickly. I tend to think it’ll be the latter. The timing is way too aligned with Nagelsmann becoming available. If we want to give ourselves ANY chance against Madrid we cannot go into that tie with an interim coach with zero experience.

On the other hand, what if something mad happens at the end of the season and a world class manager suddenly becomes available? Like, what if Liverpool have a totally shambolic finish to the already shit season they’re having and he decides his cycle there has come to an end? Sure it’s an extreme long shot, but it may be wise to wait.

Thomas Tuchel about the End of Graham Potter at Chelsea: „I read the message last night. It took me a while to process my dismissal. the club has changed massively. so it affected me less“ @ChelseaFC

Brendan Rodgers is a serious candidate for the coaching job at Chelsea because Julian Nagelsmann seems less realistic because he wants to check his options until the summer. (@TheAthleticUK)

Getting someone now is a must for me- start the ball rolling with them understanding the squad with what's left of the season so they can have their own ideas. Coming in the summer will be the problem of pre-season and learning to understand the players, plus the mass clear out that's coming.

This pre-season will be massive and needs to be as less interrupted as possible, this means the new manager firming up his ideas and working with the backroom people in advance of the chaos coming.

Funnily enough, JT did a recent podcast interview with Stephen Hendry and mentioned he was no longer interested in being a manager so I wouldn't foresee a situation where we couldn't back away from him, and ultimately I'm looking at him stepping up as part of the coaching staff, not the interim manager.

I think he could easily step back into his academy role or retain a first team coaching role with a new manager.

Nagelsmann's my top dog in this race. Of anyone else available maybe Enrique would be second in line, but I don't really rate him that highly.

Either way whoever the next manager is going to be I really hope they're appointed within the next few days to give us an outside chance in the UCL last stages. At this point it's a long shot at best but who knows, maybe a bit of "new manager bounce" could go a long way?

And even if the UCL campaign was still a bust, at least having the new manager in charge for the remaining league games would give them a better understanding of the squad which should help a little going into next season and of course the summer transfer market.
