He's been turned into a wide player That's the point though, he's been put out wide because he doesn't really offer that much in midfield. Even got dropped from the starting lineup in the world cup due to bang average performances, had to settle for cameo appearances off the bench. Will be interesting to see what happens with his contract extension talks as he's a safe, steady player but nowhere near the other English youngsters who have star potential (like Foden, Saka and co). Exactly. If he doesnt offer anything in our already weak midfield and also not performing on elite level out wide. What does he offer then and what do we need him for? Sometimes i think that shoe horning Mount and Jorgingo\Kovacic in the team is what have crippled us for some time.. Definitely but with that player off the table our recruitment team needs to find a solution, player in the same mold but less expensive.
