Of the likely prospects in bold, I think I like Lacroix and Bastoni the most. Of Tapsopa I have never been really convinced. He might be tall but he is neither particularly strong nor fast. Decent overall but neither physically nor tactically outstanding. We all probably remember him getting absolutely mauled by Lukaku last year but it does not even take a Lukaku to dominate that lanky fella. Lacroix is definitely the more accomplished player rn, heart of the 2nd best defence in Bundesliga.

N'Dicka on the other hand has stagnated. He plays on the left of rankfurts back 3 mostly and I don't think he has stood out from hinteregger and ilsanker who both are rather average defenders. Frankfurt conceded 53 goals and should have conceded more. It needed a stellar year from Silva and Kostic for them to compensate their leakage.

About Bastoni, I think he is a very natural defender with good awareness of space and runs. Maybe similar to Christensen and likewise weedy so hopefully he fills out but when you look at his wrists and ankles he does not really have much potential to put on a lot of muscle mass. Romagnoli we all know is probably the closest to the finished product.

Bastoni is left footed too - I think he's the pick of the defenders, is superb in possession but I can see the club going for a physical beast type defender - Lacroix, Botman, now that Konate is off the market. Marquinhos would be amazing but just don't see him moving.

Several #Chelsea players are set to leave the club this summer, with the sales of Arrizabalaga, Hudson-Odoi, Barkley, Loftus-Cheek and Abraham likely to raise a healthy sum

Good luck with selling Kepa and RLC, loans are only possible options.

If Lukaku doesn't work out, I would try and get Benzema for a year or two. If Real go for Haaland or Mbappe. Giroud / Kante / Hazard could put in a good word for us, and like how Thiago lifted our defense he might teach our strikers a thing or two.

According to something of a throwaway line on The Athletic, there are Premier League clubs interested in Hakimi but no mention of the name of those clubs.

Hakimi is class, hope were in for him, maybe try James in midfield.

Matt Law on the London is Blue podcast - Lukaku is the most realistic striker option, Declan Rice is ahead of Tchouameni and Kamara in the DM list.

Of course lets bring Willian, Hazard and Bamford back while at it as well smh.

Looks like we really are in for Hakimi only shining light from the main frauds were linked to.

Could be us if Tuchel continue using the back three. I say Hakimi is an upgrade over James as a RWB.

West Ham will want at least £80m for Rice

that is simply too much

buy Aurélien Tchouaméni and have him pair with and/or learn from Kante

We are supposedly putting a big in for £65m for Lukaku

that is £70 to 85m less than Håland or Kane would cost

we have such an CRAZY amount of players to sell, and other than Citeh, and PSG, everyone else is fucked financially (and us of course)

those 2016 to 2018 insanely bad buys, non sales, botched sales, etc are really going to bite us in the arse hard

if we do not sort some shit, players like Sancho, Bastoni, Marquinhos, Rice, and Camavinga (let alone Mbappe, Kane, Oblak, and Håland) are going to be crazy hard or more likely impossible to get in the gate

we can try for Varane (RM will try and rape us even though he leaves on a free in summer 2022 if they do not sell this summer), but we may end up buying Maxence Lacroix

IF Aouar is indeed only going for £25m, he is deffo worth a stab too

Rodrigo De Paul is another class CMF/winger who was a huge reason Conte quit inter, and he is going for only around £30-33m

I am still gutted that Silas Wamangituka blew his knee out and is out until October or so (and then of course it remains to be seen how damaged he is)

he was the perfect Azpi long term replacement/depth for Reece at RB, RWB, RMF, RCB

1.89m, explosive pace (around as fast as Davies from Bayern pre-injury)

look at his numbers for Stuttgart, hardly a powerhouse side

LB is such thin pickings

only 3 I really rate

Theo Hernández (I so doubt AC Milan sells) his brother Lucas (Bayern will not sell) and then another reason Conte quit and my suggestion last year

Robin Gosens , 1.84m, far faster than Alonso, and huge numbers for a pure LWB/FB

22 goals (20 of those league), 16 assists (14 league) the past 2 seasons

on the cheaper side

another LWB/LB who si even bigger (1.86m) and scored 7 goals in only 2500 minutes

Unless there’s a huge clear out that brings us huge money I can’t see another summer like last one. Like, unless we bring in something like £100m from sales it seems extremely unlikely we can afford Lukaku, Rice, and a fullback. We surely can’t spend £400m over two summers.

I feel like we’ll get 1 marquee signing and a couple of squad additions to replenish what we sell.

Completely depends on Roman.

It is obviously a real market opportunity for us at present with most teams struggling financially and less competition for transfer targets.

And with FFP relaxed/abolished (whatever situation it is currently in) it allows Roman to go aggressive if he wanted to and try and catch us back up in a much quicker manner than we would have likely been able to do pre Covid.

Pizy is not wrong though. Obviously Roman will splash that extra bit of cash to get us over the line if needed but all our summer purchases in recent years have been offset by the sales. So unless we know for sure that we'll get a good return by selling the deadwoods and players like Abraham, Loftus-Cheek, Kepa etc, it's unlikely that we'll spend big this summer. After all, don't forget about Roman's plan about making sure we're self sustainable and not just rely on his money.

Has anyone here listened to the podcast? What did Matt Law say regarding our transfer plan this summer?

Lukacow easiest striker to get out of Kane, Haaland, if we fail to get a striker we might decide to wait another year for Haaland.

Rice favorite over the other 2 but isn't an absolute must like it was with Lampard.

Right back a possibility to strenghten but not priority, Law thinks Hakimi would fit.

Nothing will be done before Euros.
