Like many, I am fine with letting Jackson go now we secured Pedro. Not necessarily bc of all his misses, he has some redeeming qualities on the pitch but bc of his continued immaturity and unprofessional attitude. His ability to deal with pressure (e.g. CL qualification expectations, competition from Delap) has only gotten worse, impressively emphasised by two bonkers red cards in his last three games.
I am not there yet with Madueke. Granted, apart from his short purple patch last autumn he has been ineffective but his ability to wreak havoc and necessite 2on1 coverage in virtually every backline created space for others. I would say he has done just enough to earn another year of assessing his trajectory. Hence, I am also on the fence about kudus. He too is super quick, reliably invokes chaos in opposition defences but fails to tangibly capitalize far too often. It doesn’t make much sense to sign yet another left footed AM/Winger if we don’t sell Madueke - with a Neto likely being safe on current form.
finally, as pointed out before, the squad needs some continuity. We can’t keep selling starters every summer, taking away this young squads ability to settle down a bit and internalise tactics and mentality.

🔵JUST IN:

Arsenal want Eberechi Eze AND Noni Madueke.

Arteta likes Noni.

The Sources are very reliable for this Story!

Fine with this as he never seems to sort his attitude out consistently. Gittens went for £55m package, Noni can go for £75m minimum considering he is PL proven, and where would they play him? Odd.

Luckily we are taking care of replacement. Pedro was out for the last five games at Brighton due to "discipline issues" and we keep sniffing around Garnacho, who is the ultimate toxic player.

I’m actually kind of surprised that we haven’t been linked with Harvey Elliot with our whole young player obsession. Lot of people think he could pull a Dole Palmer and explode once he leaves Liverpool to be an every match starter.

🔵SebSB on Gittens release clause:

"It was a funny one. And this is actually why the negotiation has been a little bit protracted because his release clause is dependent upon which European competition Dortmund qualified for next season.

So if they finished in the Champions League places, it was at its highest. If they missed out on European football together, it was at its lowest. And the problem was that over the last eight weeks of the Bundesliga season, Dortmund went from mid-table to snatching the fourth place on the final day of the season.

No one kind of knew what their leverage was in that. So it was really, really awkward for everybody."

I don't believe I've ever heard of such a clause. If we had pull the trigger early, we would have saved a decent chunk.

It is safe to say whoever led the negotiations on Chelsea side botched that one big time. When the second offer over 50m was rejected, the Dortmund director went out of his way to say that it was only rejected bc the bid came in hours before the windows closed not bc of the amount. Still, they came back with 55m+ right when it reopened. Also got a hunch Bayern interest was never real and they just did it to coax the club they dislike most into overspending

They definitely don't seem to be the smartest bunch. Go all out for meh players and play penny-pinchers where game changers are involved (Osimhen, Maignan, etc).

For Elliot it's easier path to start in Liverpool midfield than here tbh

he is best at RWer

so Salah leaving is only thing to help him there

and Salah seems to not be slowing down

probably has at least 2 top years left
