Ideally we should be going for a striker that can surpass Joao Pedro

And who is that? Only a couple of players scored more goals in the PL than him this past season. I'm watching CL final now, two best teams on planet and I don't see a better striker. Barca want him to be their starter as well...

There is no one. That's why I used the word 'Ideally'

So if Jackson is the only incoming player, I will still take that. He is far better than dumb Delap.

Barca are buying Gordon, so....

Hard to say that, tbh. Both are huge liabilities. Jackson looked dire playing for the best team in Germany by a country mile. I'd have a real shuffle & sell both if given the chance (Everton are interested in Delap).

same old shit

Konate is a risk taking, clumsy CB who is prone to howlers far too often. For me he’s way too risky to hand some monster contract even with no transfer fee.

Our big CB signing needs to be a really composed, really mature Thiago Silva like player who can command the defense. Konate certainly isn’t that.

Liability yes, and his attitude stinks, but at least Jackson can score double figures in a season which is more than Delap could manage.

The reason why I wouldn't mind sparing money on a decent forward is the hope that they at least invest in good defenders.

Going for experience doesn’t mean we go for players who have had bad seasons and are coming into the market

Need to invest in the players on the up.

Liam Delap - Detailed stats | Transfermarkt

He did that while playing for a side which got relegated.

We actually need to prioritise something this summer - CB's or attacking options. Enough of subpar players just filling up spaces at this point.

The priority should be fixing the backline!

We don't really have a defender to build the defense around other than Reece (but he has his own injury issues to deal with).

If Cucu goes (which is likely), that leaves us with Hato - Wes - Reece.

Barcola also there at LB/LWB, but agreed. Backline needs rebuilding.

Hope these clown car directors don't pin all their hopes on a returning Colwill.

His long term fitness (and form) is still in question, and the rest of the CBs are squad level at best.

We need at least one starting quality, reliable CB that can start most games (not too many next season anyway).

Not sure where that target is going to come from, but we will need one. Even if Alonso decided to go with a 3 atb formation

I think it is between Lacroix and van Hecke. They are in their mid-20s, have few years of experience in the PL, seem ready for the step up.

At this point we should go and get both.

In other news, I see Rafael Leão is asking out of Milan finally and I see lots of Chelsea fans on social media wondering if we should go for him. Gonna be honest, if this was 3 years ago or something I would’ve been on my knees begging the club to get him at all costs. But I haven’t even heard his name in ages so I assumed he completely fell off. The hype around him died a while ago.

I like him but I have my reservations...

I like the age and ability fit to be honest. He was West Ham Captain brings more leadership to the group which we need. I don’t hate this idea at all. Replace him with Neto would be the ideal situation.
