I wouldn't be against loaning Delap out for a season but no way keeping him around.he had multiple chances to show just a little something positive.it wasn't that he didn't quite live up to expectations,it was like every time he came off the bench his impact was worst than going down to 10 men.

I was optimistic when we signed him...

Yes, Delap should go on loan where he can hopefully get his career back on track. I definitely think theres still a decent PL striker in there but just one that belongs at a smaller club where he’s the main man. Go back to Ipswich or something and maybe even do us a favor by taking some points off our rivals.

Delap and Tosin are championship level players, nothing more to say really.

Got to have high basic standards in terms of who plays for our first team, and who coaches it. We let that slip hugely this year and look where we ended up.

Absolute floor has to be people that would be nailed on to be an important member of another PL team if they weren't with us.

If we keep Delap and Tosin, I think it shows that the club’s management hasn’t really changed. We need to sell both of them, along with Disasi and Badiashile. I can already imagine us a year from now saying, ‘We admit we made some mistakes

I’m starting to get the bad feeling that we won’t see ANY activity or serious movement with players out until July when Alonso is actually in the building working. 🫤

We can’t buy until we have sold …

The money spent on useless players, young prospects… it’s honestly frightening. Just look at what happened with Jorgensen — when it would have made far more sense to get a proven goalkeeper instead of paying €25M for a backup. Disasi, Badiashile, Gittens, Mudryk… this is seriously poor management.

I remember laughing when the directors kept saying in interviews, “we’re not going to change our approach.” And I also recall that when Real Madrid went 2–1 up against Bayern, a message from one of the directors to others popped up saying, “we need to get into the Champions League,” like, what? Wasn’t the importance of the UCL already obvious before even buying the club?

What is this? It’s madness.

The complete lack of quality at talent spotting GK + defenders is quite shocking: always purely focused on progressive ability, never focused on actual defensive qualities and the blend of defensive qualities you need across the group to be a solid team. Also, they repeatedly focused on players who have progressive quality under no pressure, and assumed (or punted) they could learn to play to the same quality when being pressed.

Only players that have the right qualities are Chelsea academy graduates currently that they got handed to them for free... James and Colwill.

There are several factors behind the recruitment decisions: first, wingers are prioritised because they’re the ones who increase in market value the most; second, there’s an almost unhealthy obsession with City, with signings mainly coming from their academy; and Sanchez is there because of the goalkeeper coach. It’s insane what’s going on at the club.

Jamie Gittens was another player signed last summer, joining from Borussia Dortmund. He too struggled to make himself a regular but the Blues are prepared to afford the winger more time to prove himself at Stamford Bridge.

You know that Squidward meme of him looking longingly out the window whilst people outside are having fun? 🤣

That’s how I feel seeing Liverpool linked with Diamonde and Barcola, City with Anderson and Tonali, and Arse linked with Barcola and others. And those links are just from today.

All of our rivals making big moves whilst all we’ve been hearing is about some of our best players wanting to leave and some of our worst players wanting to stay.
