All I’ll say is that whoever is pushing this signing within our club better hope this move is Cole Palmer like and Garnacho blossoms into a monster. Because this could go down as a ridiculously stupid transfer in so many ways otherwise. This is the problem I have, since it's obvious he is coming why not wait until very late in the window to get Garnacho and block United from reinvesting that money. Also in what world we need to make sales for Simons but have no problem getting Garnacho done immediately, unless that deal will be 25-30m which I highly doubt makes no sense. Carney also doesn't want to listen to any offers from any club outside Dortmund, like dude you played less than 400 minutes in total, get a grip and be open to all options. I'm surprised she got so few minutes but we had seven or eight centre backs on the books and a very promising teenager who already starts for the Dutch national team has arrived this summer after being signed and loaned back to PSV last year. I think this is a good signing for Brighton and I hope we have a buyback. Bright has reached the veteran stage, although Buchanan extended last season I can't see her staying beyond her current deal, Nouwen has left, and youngster Akpom isn't showing any signs of earning first team minutes. I can see a situation where we will be shopping for CBs in a couple of seasons so a buy back in Mpome's deal would make sense. DDA 9,950
This Garnacho stuff is crazy to me.. it really is quite bonkers. Good player but why not focus on a CB. We could literally be on the verge of competing on all fronts with a top class CB and GK. How strange do you want to be? I hope he DOES become a monster (monster in a good way, lolol) I'm okay as long as he doesn't influence the rest of the squad in a negative way. What we have building right now with Palmer, Pedro, Caicedo & co. is special. The sooner Garnacho realizes that his shenanigans won't work here, the better. Blue Armour 4,449
If UEFA FFP rules are going to be a stumbling block, I hope the club at least takes a good look at the loan market or free agent list to add a quality CB to the ranks. Problem is that we really need a starting quality CB. Tosin and Chalobah can do a job, but I wouldn't yet back them week and week out against tougher opposition. The only one that comes close to that when fit (besides Colwill, if he keeps his form up), is Fofana and even he's a big question mark. coolhead23 1,147
Curious case of Garnacho !!! The club is taking a risk going after someone like Garnacho but I feel the risk is justified. The way we're doing business, he fits the bill. Get in a player u23. ✔️ Talented and Hyped as the next best thing. ✔️ Lower wages. Mostly ✔️ Bonus: Premier League proven. 👌 Garnacho surely has talent minus his antics, if we is able to perform on the same level at United... he can be sold for a decent amount which would be pure profit. He might not work for our current system but hey not all players we take are picked on that marker. I feel it is a win win for the club. It's exactly the same as the keeper situation, why we aren't in for Donnarumma is mental, same as Garnacho situation. Thats why the Guehi deal would have made sense, Palace are pretty much confirmed to lose him before the window closes and he's a former youth product. Just watch Liverpool wrap it up for 35 million in the next week or so. Vesper

In a world where we have Gittens, potentially Garnacho, George, Neto etc that can all play there and still looking to add Simons we can't talk about sense when trying to add up between a bid for Maignan and going for possibly the best keeper in the world. They got Pulisic, who is young and has greater potential, for 20 millions from Chelsea, but wanted more for a 30-year-old Gk who had one year left on his contract. Chelsea said: Fuck you. He plays on the right side I’m pretty sure not the left, doesn’t he? Plus, there’s got to be a reason he still hasn’t signed a new deal there. His wage demands must be significant and the speculation is that he’s trying to pull a Trent and leave for Madrid on a free which comes with a huge signing bonus Vesper
