what world you live for think that city will allow alvarez come to Chelsea for 40M pounds? Lol

I never said i believed City would sell him for £40m. What i said was that i dont think he is worth more than £35-40m.

You see the difference? 😄

£75m for Fofana says otherwise.
40m is a fee from a few years back; it's no longer what PL players go for much less an attacking player who rotated at City.

Fabrizio apparently said that PSG were in talks with Alvarez’s agent. I unfortunately don’t think we’ll be able to go near whatever wages PSG will offer. They’ll be desperate to replace Mbappe and will probably offer him and others 500k per week to lure them there.

And I watched City around ten times last season (only games against strongest teams) and Haaland was not only overwhelming but completely anonymous and useless.

Well Haaland's goal record speaks for itself. Alvarez doesn't. Like I say. Alvarez, more times than not, was underwhelming up front when he played for City. I think he actually looked better linking up with Haaland rather than playing alone. Most of Alvarez goals last season were against relegation fodder. Haaland was rather poor in the big games last season, yes but he still easily ended up top scorer in league despite missing a few games too. Alvarez on other hand was outshone by likes of Foden when he played up front. He struggled up front on his own. I just don't think he is worth the reported fee at all.

There is a reason City have both: barely a footballer but a goal machine and and an a rounded FW. Alvarez could start in RW improving our attack tenfold--he's a far better footballer than Noni, and fairly different too, which would provide different options.

IMO Alvarez numbers don't matter a whole lot given how and where he played. There is no on/off switch and repetition is key to everything in football. He is really good on the ball, and we don't have enough players like that in the team.
Isn't the new manager going to implement a more possession oriented style? If so, then Alvarez is pretty much a perfect fit for that.

We've spent so much money on unknown players coming from different leagues, which makes the reported fee really nothing compared to the gambling we've been doing -- not to mention Fofana which made no sense whatsoever. Pretty much a bargain compared to Mudryk too.

heh. Foden has been extremely inconsistent for both City and England; let's see the Euros, but I'm starting to think his ceiling just isn't that high.

The ambition of the player will say everything, the farmers league or stay and prove yourself in the PL.

On the other hand, from his POV he’s already won multiple PL titles, a Champions League trophy, and the World Cup. He may think he’s got nothing left to prove or strive for and want to live the easy life for the rest of his prime years. Gets to live in Paris, earn mega wages, walk the Ligue 1 title every year, guaranteed CL football every year. And with that league being poor he can inflate his goal numbers like crazy and raise his profile.

Would be awesome if he insisted on remaining in the best league and proving himself as the main man rather than playing second fiddle to Haaland but the lure of PSG (especially a PSG that’ll be desperate for star power after losing Mbappe for free) may be too much.

GK

James Fofana Tosin Colwill

Caicedo Lavia

Palmer Nkunku Jackson

Alvarez

I can’t see why you and other folk are putting James and Fofana in...

Fofana is permantly fucked and James is fastly becoming the same.

I think you’ve got to be looking who we currently have and not injured and who they are bringing in.

Gusto Tosin Badashile Cucrella

They also have the funds to satisfy City's requirements.  Aren't we already on the FFP/PSR Radar due to massive transfer fees in the past few seasons?   I doubt spending another 80+ million on an attacker is going to help that situation.

I feel like Alvarez would be best suited to La Liga, he could really make a name for himself like other South American forwards.

Ligue 1 is like a training ground for talent, good players shouldn't be spending their prime years over there.

It’s kind of crazy that perhaps the best ball playing keeper in the world is apparently ready to leave their club, we are in desperate need for a ball playing keeper for our new manager, and yet there isn’t even a peep about us being interested. You would think that Ederson would be absolute priority #1. But it seems the club is fine with what we have.
