Substack by the Swiss Ramble about Aston Villa's finances. Likely they'll have to sell couple of players this summer. Should be approaching them about Rogers.

Would be a good approach but I will then like to see us sell some players as well so we won't be bloated.

Drewsbury Hall should go if we get that guy, as well Maduke, Sancho....I'm so so with him. Sancho can be good at time and blow cold at times. I'm really torn with him because I still think for the price United is selling it's a really no brainer to me.

Think we can find loads of better players in the market who can have the impact he did.  Even with the small fee, I'd pass on signing Sancho. So far there's been no communication to him about continuing at Chelsea and I hope it stays this way

We need to be thinking levels above Sancho, and people like Rogers fit that mould we should be looking at.

Sancho a good impact bench player no more, but I would rather invest the 25M United want for him into a much better player

Like who?

For 25 million who you get?

And English as well.

David Ornstein...

Liam Delap suitors are being informed he is not joining them, amid preference to join Chelsea. United, Newcastle, Everton etc are now informed on this, the 22 year old is on course to join CFC subject to terms and release clause being met

25 m and high wages for a player who had 3G 5A in 31 league appearances. And someone who didn't look like he could cope with a competent defense in front of him.

There's loads of wingers I'd take over this deal. Leroy Sane contract expiring. Ademola Lookman, Johan Bakayoko are cheaper options. There's also Rodrygo, Morgan Rogers, Bryan Mbeumo if we pay more.

Good signing and a bit of a no brainer at just £30m. But can’t help but feel underwhelmed if he’s our one and only forward signing considering the other names available.

No chance this happens imo. No rumors of Jackson leaving so the timing is going to catch us out - Don't see Gyokeres, Sesko looking at Delap joining and feel like they want to come here and compete.

In the short term I am happy if we are signing Delap and he joins immediately and travels for CWC

For £30m it is a no brainer, if he's shit we sell him for the same or similar to any PL club or even a championship outfit

And suddenly we have at minimum a genuine striker off the bench and someone that we can ping balls at and scrap for us. That might be a low standard but that's how low the standard of our bench has been recently. And its just the minimum - there's some reason to have higher hopes for him.

I am unhappy if we finish the transfer window with NJ and Delap as our options for PL 2025/26 unless we are signing some complete madman goal scorer for another position - we need to add a decent chunk of goals to the team since Cole fell off on that front, simple as that.

I guess I mean attacking player in general. Doesn’t have to be another traditional striker. Still definitely think we need additional attacker after Delap who can score and create goals at a decent clip to replace Nkunku/Sancho.

I”d be delighted with Morgan Rogers.

Yup, I'd be happy with Rogers or Rodrygo for the left on top of Delap

Doesn't that include the like for Rashford, Disasi, Asensio, etc?

All will be going back to their clubs (unfortunately), so it will look better than that.
