Journalist confirms Arsenal interest in £120m rated league winning player Lautaro Martinez

The Gunners have been linked with some of the top strikers in Europe at the moment.

The general feeling regarding Arsenal is that signing a world class striker can take the team to the next level and make them Premier League champions.

The presence of a top class striker in Erling Haaland helped Man City to yet another league title while Arsenal once again failed to beat Pep Guardiola’s team to the finishing line.

Italian journalist Fabio Santini has shared an update on the future of Inter Milan striker Lautaro Martinez and mentioned Arsenal’s interest in the player.

The World Cup winner, who has guided his team to Serie A success this season, is currently negotiating a new contract at the club.

The Italian giants want to keep the striker at the club but only on their terms.

The Argentine attacker currently has a contract at the club till 2026 but the failure to reach agreement on a new deal has alerted potential buyers.

Santini has claimed that the Italian giants have offered the player a contract with a salary between a salary between €9 million and €9.5 million (£7.6m-£8.1m) per year.

But the striker is demanding €12 million (£10.2m) a year.

Santini told TVPlay Official on Twitch:

“Arsenal are professing again this morning that they want Thuram. In reality, they would also like to take Lautaro. Inter don’t even take it into consideration.

“But, if Lautaro says he wants €10 million plus €2 million salary or he’s leaving, [Inter will say] ‘great, if Arsenal offer €140 million (£120m), we’ll sell you’.”

The current situation surrounding the striker looks more like his agent forcing Inter Milan to offer him a better salary.

Arsenal’s interest in the striker hasn’t been concrete as the Gunners are looking at other options like RB Leipzig attacker Benjamin Sesko, as reported by The Telegraph.

Arsenal should look for other options

Arsenal spent £100m on Declan Rice last summer and spending another £120m on Martinez would not be a wise decision financially.

That would take most of Arsenal’s summer transfer budget who, along with signing a striker, want to sign a midfielder and a full-back as well.

There are few strikers better than Martinez in the market right now as he has shown his amazing form for the Italian giants for a long time now.

However, the move does not make sense for the Gunners financially.

Chelsea set to hijack Manchester United’s pursuit of Argentine sensation Aaron Anselmino

Chelsea are reportedly poised to hijack Manchester United’s pursuit of Aaron Anselmino, one of Argentina’s most promising young defenders, ahead of the upcoming transfer window.

Anselmino, the 19-year-old starlet currently playing for Boca Juniors, recently extended his contract with the Buenos Aires club in January, committing to them until the end of 2028.

Despite this extension, the teenager has attracted significant interest from top Premier League clubs, including Manchester United.

Initially, Boca Juniors had included a £15.72 million release clause in Anselmino’s contract.

However, given the mounting interest from the Premier League giants, this clause was removed as it was deemed insufficient to fend off potential bids.

Chelsea looking to hijack Manchester United target

According to the latest report from The Sun, Chelsea have now entered the race for Anselmino’s signature.

Journalist Fafi Perez confirmed Chelsea’s interest alongside that of Manchester United. Both clubs are reportedly ready to meet Boca’s revised asking price, setting the stage for a potential bidding war.

Although Anselmino has yet to cement his place as a regular starter for Boca Juniors, having made just four appearances this season and scoring one goal, his potential has caught the eye of top scouts.

Both Chelsea and United reportedly plan to loan Anselmino out after securing his signature to ensure he gets consistent playing time and continues his development before joining the English top flight.

Chelsea and Manchester United are currently undergoing managerial uncertainty

Both clubs are going through a period of managerial uncertainty. Chelsea recently sacked Mauricio Pochettino, leaving them without a permanent manager.

Similarly, Manchester United are facing managerial instability, with Erik ten Hag’s future in doubt despite leading the team to an FA Cup victory with a 2-1 win over Manchester City earlier today.

For me that should’ve ended any chance that we ever go after him again. You want guys who would jump at the chance to come to Chelsea.

IIRC, the player has mentioned that his preference would be a move to United but people will keep on hoping that he'll choose Chelsea as he was here years ago as a kid.

Palace would love the fact that we're interested as they can easily jack up the price.   We'd probably be better off getting Guehi back at CB.

Just watched an Eze highlight video too. These guys are both insane.

Think Eze would be an even better fit as he plays centrally as well, so him and Cole can rotate.

Anyone watched enough of Palace to comment which of the two is better? More suited to us?

I would love Eze here for the midfield. I fear Pep and City will be in for Eze after Paqueta's spot-fixing charges.

Would be heartbroken see gallager and chalobah in man united

Let's not exaggerate, both useful players but I'd love to see United waste their load on players that aren't top players.

There are rumors that Ederson wants out at City. Maresca has worked with him…

Can’t imagine City will sell him here, though.

Can't wait for them to replace him with Mamadarshvili and ends up being top class while we signed a clown like Sanchez.

Imagine a ball playing GK just went high up the priority list.

Ball playing GKers:

Diogo Costa (best option, but will cost a tonne)

Mike Maignan

Unai Simón

Lucas Chevalier

Bento

Guillaume Restes (19yo from Toulouse, super athlete, biggest upside atm for any U21 keeper on the planet)

1.88m (6 feet, 2 inches) and great with the ball

I will be absolutely STUNNED if we go and spend another big amount on a keeper after just buying Sanchez and Petro within a year. Who would even take Sanchez? We’d have to basically give him away after spending a silly amount on him.

I think Petrovic will remain the starter.

What do we even need aside from a Gusto-esque find for LB and a ball playing GK if you (bravely) ignore injury records of our players? I don't really see much need anywhere. Squad is pretty built out.

Would be nice to not go crazy and just make 1-2 signings for the XI, keep the group together and go into next year with a group of players we can continue to bond with and see as Chelsea lads. All of the chopping and changing at the club has left me feeling quite disconnected with it compared to the old days.
