After he failed miserably at Manure.

They chucked him back to Palace, where he's never reached his previous form.

So no thanks

'Never reached his previous form'?

Before his failed Man Utd stint (age 20 btw) he had only ever played for Palace in the Championship where he scored 6 league goals a season.

Since going back to Palace he's played 8 years in the PL and aside from a blip in form in 2019/20 he's been very consistent with his level for a long time, averaging around 10 non-penalty goals a season for the last 5-6 years. If that's not 'reaching his previous form' I really don't know what is.

Like I said in my previous reply I'm under no illusion Zaha's a top class player but he's still a good one. I wouldn't pay a big fee for him but if available on a reasonable deal I wouldn't say no.

Sometimes with Zaha for me is that you can tell what kind of game he's going to have by the first 25 minutes, kinda like a mood player. Sometimes when he starts a game poorly he seems to not bother/try for the rest of the match. Also opponents get under his skin way too easily, he seems to always be having a go at somebody.

We need a RWer, preferably a lefty, and a CF

hardly any left at either position who meet my test of quality

we may have to do a dumpster dive of desperation, arrrffff

Only RWers I really rate that we have a shot at atm are

Jarrod Bowen left footer
Moussa Diaby   left footer

Leroy Sané   left footer  plays either wing, but huge salary and doesn't want to really leave

Kingsley Coman, exact same as Sane

Rayan Cherki  ambipedal (soon 19yo youth from Lyon) dice roll IF we expect him to step in and play huge minutes, but has a huge upside

Bernardo Silva can play there, but doubt Citeh would sell him to us

Rafael Leão is a LWer, right footed, crazy expensive, almost never plays on the RW, so he is a pass atm

Bonus and the CF

Arnaut Danjuma who is a CF (my 2nd choice remaining after Osimhen) but also plays either wing, downsude for him as a winger, he is a right footer, and plays more on the LW

Bowen would be dream.Already proven in league, english player. But he is second most important player for WHU with Rice. No easy deal.
Sane sounds okey as he is also proven but if he has big salary... no thanks/

Bilva... but this not happend.

Leao, there was some rumours earlier but he will cost big money.
Sadly after Raphinha not many good options 😕

I really wanted Zaha a couple of years ago when we were heavily linked and love him as a player. But he’s just about to turn 30 in a few months and his game is totally dependent on pace and athleticism which could start to decline sharply very soon.

Doesn’t seem like a wise buy at all at this point. Not even if it’s a cheap deal.

and (I edited him off already) Oyarzabal is out for months with a bad knee injury

Leao is no good for many reasons atm, especially as he never plays on the RW and is a right footer, we need a lefty

Silva is not happening, you are correct

soooooooooooo

its Diaby or Bowen by process of  elimination for a lefty RWer

and go for Danjuma for CF (bonus is winger depth), if not, just grab a cheapie for this season

no clue what we are doing at RCB, we obviously are not going to go for Škriniar this year (or ever if he renews) and Fofana is insanely expensive, maybe revisit a bargain buy of Maxence Lacroix (a bit desperation there I do admit, BUT he is still young (22) and has a massive potential)

for DMF and box to box I am convinced we should make a move for Kouadio Koné as a bargain price, HUGE upside smart buy

Joakim Mæhle for Right-Back

FIXED IT

Is that supposed to be a dig at Tuchel? You won't find any manager in the world today that has more pull than Guardiola so there's no shame in 'losing out' to him.

Besides, didn't we just nab Cucurella when City had been after him all summer? Sure they weren't willing to pay as much in transfer fee as Boehly did but Cucurella could easily just have gone the route of Raphinha/Kounde and keep strict with his demands to go to a specific club and there's nothing Brighton could have done but ultimately lower their asking price to make it happen. Instead he spoke to Tuchel and was happy with our project too and ended up joining.

Kounde

please

I BEG of all the board

we DID NOT lose out to Barca on Kounde

we pulled the plug, got cold feet (thank fuck)

Monchi confirmed this over and over, as did the the Sevilla president, Jose Carmona

we DID, disastrously, lose out to them on both Raphinha and Dembele

all these dreg buys and refused sales over the years are biting a nice 10 kilos of flesh out our arse

we are still the most complicated major club in the world (especially when the stadium situ is tossed in like a 2 billion pound hand grenade), although Barca are in more chaos atm, same for Manure I wager

Wonder if we ever went all in on Dembele?

It doesn’t seem we were proactive at all when it comes to upgrading our attack. We randomly made a bid for Raphina when he agreed to terms with Barca for a while. Both Lukaku and Werner forced their way out, I think both of them could still be here if they didn’t make a fuss.
