even with kova, jorginho, kante and gallegher..

4 players for two positions

its the same a lot of players

how we buy someone? to spend a lot of time on the bench?

gallegher need to play to improve as a player

Last season we had Kante, Kovacic, Jorghinho, RLC and Saul for two places and no way it was too many. If RLC is moved on, Gallagher will just take his (and Saul's) place and it will be okay. If RLC stays, he can be the next backup.

I’d rather keep Billy in the squad rather than RLC and Barkley. Ruben may actually be fairly sought after by several clubs because of the flashes of talent he has shown. Perhaps Lamps could take him? Don’t know how we get shot of Barkley, though. His wages have to be pretty high and he already had a poor loan spell at Villa.

RLC will show a flash of brilliance in one match and then disappear for several more afterwards. Don’t think he’s ever going to have the consistency to make it here. At least Billy has lots of room for growth.

Don't forget Gilmour. In terms of numbers we are STACKED in midfield. In terms of balance we are way off, we only have B2B and AM types there except for Jorginho. We definitely need to first off-load some to buy some. Gilmour is likely to go on loan again, but it remains to be seen whether we can shift Barkley (last chance to get some money off him) and RLC. If not, I'm afraid there is little chance we're gonna sign anybody. This is also the last summer we can get anything for Jorginho and Kante unless they extend, these are options we should be looking at if we don't wanna lose them for free, but at the moment there is little to suggest that either is leaving or extending. We might face the same problem with our MF as we are with DF right now.

I think this is the window where we get our defence sorted. Next summer is when we'll go rebuilding our midfield once Jorginho and possibly Kante leave for free.

I'd let Barkley see out his contract aslong as he has zero expectations game time wise.

He always seems to have one mini spell a season where he actually plays really well, with Mount and potentially Gallagher with a long mid season world cup ahead of them he could yet come in handy one last time.

Barkley and Sarr seemed like low-risk signings when they came in for cheap but just shows how difficult it is to shift bodies if they are on fairly high wages and are rubbish at this level. Hope this is the last of the depth signings for the sake of it.

I'm so sick of this mentality. Why he can't fight for his spot like Chalobah did?

These academy players making ridiculous demands

Players don't want to fight for their places/want the easy route and clearly don't have that strong of a connection to the club. Mount might get hate at times for his subpar performances, but his love for this club is probably second to none & it's been evident for many years (comments his father made whilst he was still a youngster).

Barkley had moments, but his attitude off the field is the main reason behind his downfall.

Reading this article, it seems Colwill is counting Emerson, Ampadu, Sarr, Azpilicueta among his competition.

Tuchel needs to convince him that the minutes are there even with one more signing (Kimpembe) and that he's ahead of the likes of Sarr, Ampadu.

There’s 16 league games, 6 champions league games, and 2 league cup games before the World Cup.

24 games in 14 weeks. About 2 games a week.

To suggest Colwill won’t get minutes or start at the minimum 10-15 games between then is utterly ridiculous.

Even factoring out Colwill it's such overkill and totally contradicts the alleged news TT want the option to revert to back 4.

Mental and makes zero sense. You’d think Colwill along with Gallagher Tuchel would’ve wanted to prioritize.

With the contract lengths of Broja and Colwill we're not in the same situation as the likes of Livramento.

If they want to leave to play regularly, encourage them that the pathway is still there and a loan is in their best interests instead of leaving permanently.

Compared to all the other top teams, our squad is already brimming with academy players. I feel Gallagher will get quite a bit of game time this season and I think Ampadu will stay in the squad too due to his versatility to play multiple positions. After Chalobah last season, and the likes of Mount and James before them, this should be more than enough evidence to point to players that there are opportunities in our squad if they are good enough.

Ironically we seem to be hoovering up a lot of highly rated players in the 16 - 18 age bracket around the league this summer.

Yup. I'm hoping it is a tactic targeting several deals and eventually choosing to bring in one more defender
