I think Simons & Garnacho will be last two signings we make. Not going for a top GK or top CB is difficult to fathom though, we will get found out with Sanchez for sure. I get the lad from Ajax signed but they talk like he is going to be cover at left back more than at CB.

Will Simons play as a 10 or wide? How does both Palmer & him slot into the same team with the likes of Joao Pedro, Estevao, Gittens, Garnacho & Neto also to be considered for those 3 positions behind the CF? I’m a bit shocked a player of Xavi Simons calibre is looking at us and thinking of coming here mainly because there is a lot of attacking players here already and he could end up on the bench. Garnacho the same.

Given how easily and quickly Maresca discarded several club signings last year, I do wonder if any of the players we have signed will suffer the same fate this season?

It is quite likely.

35m for Nkunku covers Garnacho fee. Do we have funds for Xavi now ?

This is what I’d like to know. Can we proceed with both Garnacho AND Simons with just Nkunku going or will we also need to get a big fee for Jackson in order to sign the latter?

Nkunku and Jackson are going, absolutely no doubt.

I also think a few more bodies will be going that have hardly been mentioned

He’ll go, but will it be on loan or for good is the question. Maybe that’s what Matt Law’s report is all about. Jackson could go to Bayern on loan but that likely means no money for Simons. But we could be slow walking things in hopes that Liverpool comes back in for Isak and Newcastle then use that cash for Jackson for big money. Then we can sign Xavi.

The interesting situation is that Xavi is now in London trying to push through a move. Would he do that unless a move is imminent? And if a move is imminent can it actually be us as long as Jackson is here?

Hopefully we get some clarity ASAP.

Would be a little sad to see him as a spuds player after reading so many news that he wanted us

if we get fermin lopez, its not so bad

I haven’t watched anything at all of Fermin, in terms of him vs xavi, what is he better at? We lack speed and penetration, we’ve had enough of slow the attack down pace with Sancho (disappointed it didn’t work out with him).

Very concerned about the striker department. Pedro and Delap are an upgrade on Jackson for sure but I’ll still maintain we lack a Giroud. What an option and a player he was for us, feel bad describing him as an option but he really had dimensions to his game for a tall chap.

I was but now Delap and Pedro have got me really confident, more so Joao Pedro he has been excellent.

I'm worried about the back line and keeper

GK and CB definitely, especially carrying and passing out from LCB, I hammered Colwill for not progressing considering how we all rated him and out of his tourney win but now it’s made me step back and think how integral he was, with his learnings, for our play.
