Chelsea Transfers

After checks: Chelsea last night remained at 15 million for Maignan but added bonuses to targets. Under these conditions the deal remains difficult even though the clubs are still in contact. It remains to be seen whether the Blues will submit a second offer in these minutes.

Milan playing a smart game, as the clock ticks ever closer Chelsea start to panic...going all the way this one

I don't get this 'panic' - CWC is not crucial, we will be fine with playing with Sanchez instead of overpaying

If AC Milan say no they lose out on £15m (not a lot to us but a lot to them), forced to play the whole season with a GK who has openly said he doesn't want to be there and has no interest in the club, lose him in a years time on a free in a humiliating failure to retain their most important talent or at least manage the situation properly, and then have to somehow sign a decent GK with absolutely nothing in the bank - and whoever comes in knows that whatever deal they sign better be good because the club can and will fuck you over.

The reality is we are fine with the GKs we have for CWC and there's probably no time to bed in a GK for it anyway, they've got to learn a whole fucking tactical system - I really doubt Maresca would rush them in over Sanchez who knows the system and ended the season well. We can do a PL season with Petrovic in goal if needed and bring Big Mike for free next year if they force us in that direction and its not even really a bad outcome for us.

There’s no panic if we don’t secure him before the CWC but surely it’s beneficial to have your new starting keeper in place for it since who knows what our preseason looks like this summer? Getting him settled in ASAP and hopefully playing a bunch of games during a deep run in the tournament could be all the preseason he gets.

The moment you make the inquiry solidifies your interest and more prominent in this window and how short it is to get it done. We have done this wanting him for the CWC as it is essential if he does come he joins up now and lot later down the line due to hardly any pre season and then straight into the new season. To spend a week talking to them, squabbling over a few million makes no sense what so ever and if this happens to fall through we look fucking stupid once again.

The market reopens on June 16, and that gives Chelsea more time to sign players for the knockout phase, should they get there. The window to register new players at the tournament runs from June 27 to July 3.

It is one of the reasons Chelsea have not felt under pressure to get all of their business done by June 10.

It’s just the idea that we were willing to shell out £20m+ for Sanchez after he was benched by Brighton no problem but won’t go there for a keeper who is much better and has a pedigree like he does is insane. A player who is super keen to join us, too! A top player basically falls into our lap and these guys may fumble it.

For Kellyman, Amougou, and a dozen other random teenagers that will never wear a Chelsea first team shirt they’ll happily spend the money. For the top keeper we’ve needed since Mendy’s first season here we refuse to go about £15m? Seriously?

I wonder if its the lack of interest in our first team GK's that is stopping us from getting Maignan?

Haven't seen any decent links for Sanchez or Jorgensen and both of them can't stick around as #2 next season....

Sanchez to remain as the 2 and the others go on loan, I mean we are renowned for loaning players so that would be second nature

Congratulations to Winstanley and Stewart and all the board for penny pinching and now not completing a signing in an area that we were desperate for.....slow clap for these absolute fucking amateurs

The dickhead in me was sure this would happen, giving these fucking wankers the benefit of the doubt for once that they could actually do the right thing and secure this signing, how fucking naive am I, these blokes want fucking hanging

Maresca wanted this guy, he wanted him badly and once again we have failed a manager over pennies....a fucking massive disgrace

Maignan is in decline anyways so not much harm done but goes to show once again how pathetic these 2 dumb brothers are.

Maignan was the ball playing keeper Maresca wanted, not only wanted but comes cheap and is better than Sanchez...there isn't much elese to say apart from another failed transfer courtesy of fucking dumb and dumber
