My record of predicting if strikers we sign turn out good, is like most of us patchy at best but Delap is like Palmer was before we signed him.small sample to test from but can see signs he has "it".we pretty much saw the good, bad and ugly of NJ last night. Delap offers us some similar attributes that good side of NJ does but better close control, better composure, finishing.

The more I watch him the more I think he could be really good here and even against low block he shouldn’t have too much issues as he’s physically imposing.. The right service around him he could score 15+ in the Premier League and in Europe where teams play a more gung-ho style could be very effective. Still wish we can get a Gyokeres/Sesko as well but that’s probably a pipe dream.

Doesn’t make sense unless Jackson is sold. And with Maresca and the club hierarchy in love with Jackson enough to say “I’d love a clone of Nico Jackson” and hand him a o year contract, there’s not a chance in hell we sell him.

Signing just Delap is already risky because he’s not the finished product. Signing Delap AND Ekitike who is also a development project would be silly.

Even with that they need to sell from what I've read

I feel like that's been the case for a while similar to Newcastle. CL saved the latter somewhat.

The sale of Rogers or Watkins would probably put them in an okay position.

For him to use his physicality to help against low blocks, I would like for Delap to add some headers to his game, because aerially he hasn't been the best. i.e someone who can consistently get on the end of the delicious crosses that either Palmer or James can feed.

Without the ability to head we might have to rely on him to instead create space for others to score, by occupying defenders.

its another player to add to our squad next season

so, atm: estevao, santos and delap

so, we can expect this: a new defender, a new right winger and maybe another striker and goalkeeper and thats it. after or while that, focus on departures

Good to see that the club mean business just like Liverpool and have gone out and attacked their main targets basically the moment the season ended.

If they go out and address our other couple of weaknesses quickly then we should be in one hell of a position come the start of next season.

As for those wide attacker links, I genuinely would rather keep Sancho for £25m than going and spending £40-50m or whatever Dortmund want for Gittens. I really think he’d flop here. At least with Sancho he knows the club and knows the league well.

Nico Williams or Morgan Rogers for me. Rodrygo is a fantasy and never happening.

Pretty sure he won the penalty’s as well for the goals

loool silly argument and besides is not guarenteed that delap overpass NJ because the expectations and de pression of playing for a much bigger club could affect the player

lets wait and see

TBF, Delap strikes the ball with more purpose and power. NJ hesitates and thinks too much in front of goal.

We'll see how Delap does when constantly facing packed defenses, but there is no doubt he improves our attacking options. Nothing else like him in the squad.

Still wish he becomes aerially more dominant though. We have great crossers of the ball in the squad, but not many to get on the end of it.
