Maresca just isn't keen on him and wasn't from the get go.

Nope, but getting rid of him while we are already kind of limited in attack and not having replacement signed up is crazy. He also is a mainstay in the UECL and the more we used our fringe players for that, the better chances it helps us in the league games as our first team players have more rest.

It depends on the circumstances to be fair - did Felix & his agent demand it? Did he want out?

I am reasonably onboard with Pep's approach: if they don't 1000% want to ride or die with you, off they go. Even if in the short term its worse for you.

Yep, but Pep always would sign a replacement. Even after selling Alvarez, Pep realised he needed another CF/attacker and bought Marmoush. We should realise how crucial depth is in terms of helping you compete in all competitions.

He's out for the rest of the season. It's why he was recalled.

Fofana was recalled before last night's game. Guiu's injury had no part to play in Fofana being recalled.

So glad we got Disaster put of the door. £5m plus wage feels like robbed Villa as any sort of money back on him wasn't expected. The only issue is that it is a loan. Anyone know if we may have been able to insert a obligation in the end? Praying that we did 🙏

Disasi can do well there. He is half decent, if he doesn't have to pass from the back and the D line isn't too high. On top of that he is never injured.

Disaster will do well if all he has to do is attack set pieces in the opposition box and doesn't have to defend, pass or run back.

So we have wasted a window and a chance to add to the team but instead we sent every fucker out on loan and bought some no mark from France

Well....at least we didn't add that Brighton striker!   That's a massive positive from the window.

He was fine at Monaco, keep him to his limited role and he'll be fine.

I didn't get why the club/Maresca decided to use him as a RB, he wasn't a great defender to begin with and then you put him up against wingers and attacking mids....

Not sure who we where going to buy? At CF I am pretty convinced Delap is the player they want now. No way where Ipswich selling him in Jan. At CB, who was there? One of the players City brought? However, once City get involved it becomes very difficult owing to wages. Marmoush for instance is now on a reported £250-300k per week. If the AM option was Tel, then I am happy we didn't sign him. Luiz was the only player we were linked with that made any sense but his situation is complicated by his misses also having moved to Juve Women with him. That said, he age probably means he was never an option. At GK we already have 7. Only thing we could/should've done is brought back Petro and given them Sanchez.

People said the same thing about Bakayoko. 'He was good/ok' at Monaco'. In Bakayoko's case, I saw a lot of him at Monaco owing to that exciting team they put together and was telling everyone before we brought him that he was an absolute donkey and owed his career to Fabinho.

As for Disaster, I suspect someone was also bailing him out, as I cannot see how he can be a functioning CB for a PL team unless they go full Dyche and having him sit on the 18 yard line hoofing balls down to pitch and only venturing out of the final third for set pieces.

We should have been at least trying for Delap, like slapping a fee in front of them and make them knock it back as opposed to doing nothing. We are one injury away from disaster up front and as bad as Jacskon has been we actually need him. We have dicked around this month and got nothing that has strengthened us and simply made ourselves more exposed.

Now that Duran Duran has gone on tour to Saudi - Delap is the next best thing. He is an animal at pressing and gets in the right places.

Think him as a rotation to Jackson is what we need.

Really need to sort our CBs out and I think the entire team looks better.

Who is to say we didn't? A lot of our transfers aren't widely in the media until quite late. Additionally, Delap now vs the Summer is probably a very different proposition. Now, I reckon Ipswich would've asked for £100m+. They would have justified that by saying he is their best chance of staying in the league at that is worth £170m.

In the Summer, with Ipswich likely relegated they won't be able to demand the same. The only issue may be City's £40m buyback but with the way they spent in the window you have to suspect they were loading up for a ban or some sort of punishment, so not sure they will be able to do anything.

Honestly, I just do not think he was ever a possibility in the window unless we vastly overpaid.

How does the buyback work though?    Let's say someone bids 60 million for Delap, do City still get to buy him back at 40 million or do they waive that right and get some sort of sell on clause instead?

Would make sense for City to just activate the clause and sell him to the highest bidder.   No wonder why they wanted that clause into O'Reilly's deal.

Pretty sure it’s first dibs on the player at the amount that was in the contract, so if it’s 40m they can buy him back for 40 million

But if player rejects to go there nothing City can do. And why would he go there when they are already full of strikers. Here on the other hand it's easy to be number one.

That latest Fabrizio tweet about our plan for this kid we just signed is unbelievable. Payed 15m to basically rent this kid for a few months with zero intention of him actually being a long term Chelsea player. He probably won’t even be given a game by Maresca and then in the summer he goes to Strasbourg never to be seen or heard from again.
