Will be interesting how much they end up paying and if there is a no-PL discount for them. He would have been perfect over caicedo/Latvia last summer but now there is no real point for us anymore €45m apparently. But will see. Had another good season too. I think Bayern were going to pay a premium last summer as Fulham wouldn’t have had time to replace him as it was late in the window. But yeah he was ready made, good to go instead of so ending the £80 odd million on Lavia & Ugochuwku. Him and Caicedo would of been brilliant options and could play in tandem also with Gallagher/Enzo playing more free. I have read rumours about him everywhere but would not even get excited .he would be an absolute shoe in with his playing style, straight upgrade on Sterling/mudryk for the left side + could easily establish himself as a leader with his attitude and workrate. Absolutely love to have players like this who play with intensity&passion plus have the technique to back it up. But these kind of transfers were always super uncommon for us, even under Roman. There have been many classy Italian players that would have fitted us well over the past 20 years. But from the top of my head, I only remember Jorginho, zappcosta and Emerson actually joining us during that time. many tend to stay in Italy and of those who don’t they usually prefer sunnier destinations over England. Ironically Newcastle, which is maybe the place that must look most hostile to an Italian, are among the favourites to sign him. If he does end up there I will absolutely pissed with out board cos it would mean they were willing&able to prise some little known 26 yo CB away from them but not a quality, proven international household name. Mhsc 1,146
If someone is willing to buy Broja for £30m then they are absolutely mad but it is Everton so it might be true. Sell sell sell.

Palhinha would of been good for us though. From the get go. No chance we get Chiesa, as mentioned above, not under the age of 21 so be far too old 😂 34 minutes ago, Mhsc said: This is how it should be and what should have happened with quite a few of the young players we've gone for imo. Beorn 11
If we are looking for an experienced MF then I’d possibly look at Douglas Luiz who is rumoured to be possibly leaving Villa. They are looking at Gallagher too, would be a clear upgrade IMO

Arsenal did not offer half what we offered. Arsenal fans and pundit based Arsenal fans were bitter that he chose us so wanted to say that he went for money, when that was not the case. Potential does not guarantee success . I believe getting all these young hyped up players with not enough experienced leaders around them actually will stunt their development. Wengers young gunners won nothing for 10 straight years bc he had mostly kids and no real leaders. It was no coincidence Drogba put them to the sword almost every single time despite them playing decent football. only when they brought in experienced players like Podolski, Özil, Sanchez, Giroud, mertesacker, cazorla they started winning the fa cup again at least. But by then a whole generation of superbly talented young players had gone to waste bc of poor squad planing. We have now basically invested 1bn to become Arsenal anno 2007 but with an unproven coach. Clownlake are running headfirst into the youth trap bc they have no clue. They are yanks who have been into ‘soccer’ for a couple of years and have no clue about generations of greatly talented teams that went to waste winning nothing bc of owners like them. Vesper 31,108
Federico Chiesa put up for sale by Juventus https://thedailybriefing.io/i/145467158/federico-chiesa-put-up-for-sale-by-juventus At the moment, Federico Chiesa is an option for Napoli, and Antonio Conte obviously knows Chiesa from his time as Italy coach. My information is that as things stand, Roma are looking for a different kind of player. It's impossible to say what will happen in the coming weeks with any certainty, but it is looking very likely that Chiesa will wait until the end of the Euros first, and then make his mind up on his future. There is no doubt that Juventus have put him on the market though, and a solution will have to be found for him, as it looks like they will part ways after four years. bigbluewillie
