Robert Sanchez also counts as association trained as he started at BHA at 15 years old. Was loaned out in the English divisions before making his debut at 18 in 20/21.

He is 26 now, how was he 18 in 20/21? 🙂

You are right my math isn’t mathing. He came to England in 2013 @ 15 and made his debut 7 years later @ 22 either way he falls under HG association trained player status.

It's nice that we are buying all young talents from all over the world but what about our academy? Can we expect in years to follow guys like we produced last 5 years? Doesn't matter if they become Chelsea quality but for financial part is great. Getting pure profit and hundreds of millions for guys like Abraham, Tomori, Guehi, Mount is amazing. We can literally get 100m this month if we decide to sell Chalobah, Gallagher and Maatsen. No one here is starting material for Chelsea. Just keep real deal players like James and Colwill. Hope this trend continues.

Footballing history says it is unlikely.

I understand that Diogo Costa was simply too expensive (especially given our other needs)

and that Oblak doesn't really want to leave AM (especially for a club with no CL)

but

I REALLY want an official explanation as to why we passed on Giorgi Mamardashvili, especially as he was around £5m less expensive than Sanchez

Mamar is taller (TBF both are huge, 1.99m to 1.97m) and despite being 3 years younger, has 40 more topflight games (130 to 90), plus from what I seen, is a better distributor (Sanchez was benched for that reason last season)

I am NOT opposed to Sanchez like I was with Raya, but still, I want to hear why we passed on Mamar

edit to add:

was it the HG factor?

Ugochukwu reminds me  of a less polished, but still POTENTIALLY similar to, down the road, version of Patrick Vieira
