On the final matchday, at home against Bournemouth, a victory would secure the championship as the score is 1-1. In the 88th minute, Lukaku comes on. In the 93rd minute, a cross from James into the penalty area, Lukaku rises high and heads it in for the 2-1 lead. Collective celebration, Lukaku gives Chelsea the title, and he is carried out of the stadium on shoulders, with a Lukaku statue built outside Stamford Bridge. The End. That type of impact for a £97m signing who thinks he's on par with peak Suarez and Benzema is the barest of bare minimum requirements. Mário César 1,284
i was reading the brighton forum and there was a comment saying why would caicedo change brighton for Chelsea, since brighton was going to play in the europa league, which is not even that important a competition honestly what is the problem with our club is that there are not so many people who like it. I feel arsenal had a higher status just because they came second than us when we won the champions league in 2021 when arsenal didn't even win anything last season I notice so many people talking about newcastle and they have only secured one top4 finish in the last few years. I don't get it. it seems our success doesn't have the same impact as other clubs success. kante'left leicester, who had won the league, and leicester died after that and at Chelsea kanté kept winning titles. after city and liverpool, Chelsea is the most successful club in recent years and even liverpool has not won anything relevant since 2020 and will play in the europa league. our problem is that we are hated. it makes no sense not to understand the change from a brighton to a Chelsea all right we had a bad season, but we changed the coach and we are betting on another type of players and we can guess a much better season than the previous one. I’ve also noticed that almost all opposition fans think that because we had 1 terrible season we’re suddenly undesirable and will be in the mud for the next 5 years or something. It’s pure wishful thinking. Supporters of small clubs like Brighton or clubs that have been midtable or worse for years and years like Villa who had great seasons last time out suddenly think they can talk shit about Chelsea. Hope you are right. What was shocking, galling was that there was no urgency to remedy the situation, Lampard, Potter just throwing petrol on the fire. Fucking clueless. Hapless fools. As people have said wouldnt have happened under the Russian. Loved his football, loved the club. Yeah, except it's our own fans who do this all the time as well. Ever since the takeover I read that "no one will want to come here" and no CL football doubles on that, as we somehow have no way to attract top-tier players… Perhaps Potter's presence didn't make things much easier then, but still it's Chelsea and it was rather obvious this rut won't last forever. Pizy 18,952
United had a horrific, embarrassing season under Ole. Their worst in PL history. Yet they were still able to go out and sign Casemiro and Lisandro and they turned things around 180 degrees in a single year. Why lots of opposition fans seem to think we can’t do the same is pretty funny to me. And I think they’re in for a rude awakening and will be shocked at how much better we are this season. Assuming we complete our squad this summer, that is. They’ve all seemingly forgotten that the last time we finished midtable we won the damn league the following season. While that won’t happen this coming season, if we sign Caicedo and 1 or 2 others I don’t think there’s any way we don’t make a serious challenge for 2nd-4th. I want to believe we will be back to be obvious top 4, I'm not sure if I do yet. However, if we will, I don't think there's big leap from 4 to 1 this time. All top clubs seem do be on bit downward spiral now. City got it absolutely last minute this season, it's not like any team went for 100 points from the start of season, so if a team is lucky, clinical and not dropping points with bottom of table, something we are not quite known for in recent years, I think we could take our chances. robsblubot 3,595
Top 4 would be extremely unlikely IMO. Not only the young squad thingy, but also the number of bets that need to come through. Realistically only a percentage of those will work, which will make top 4 very difficult this season. Evidently, it depends on what the other teams do, but I'm assuming the strong teams of last season will remain strong, which will make it a packed top 6. Our starting XI is the weakest among the top clubs IMO. if you consider Tottenham a top club, I don't, that's the only club with a weaker starting XI. Don't think we have more quality than Newcastle either. Vegetable

Gundalf 806
IMO everything between P3 and P8 is possible. It will be very tight in this zone if u ask me, 1 or 2 lucky wins or unlucky losses will move u up and down the places. Vegetable

And our squad depth is WAY better than Arsenal/Liverpool/United never mind all the others. Again, assuming we get Caicedo our only true weakness will be depth up front. Caicedo is just another bet... and very expensive one. Paying more to players don't help them play better. Team has no quality on the wings... no playmaker either. I just don't see how we are going to face squads with experienced and established players. Even if we start strong, and without that things can turn ugly real fast, my concern would still be around dec-feb. Dunno, I just don't see the quality in the squad most here see. Like I said, way too many bets all at once. Situation does not make top4 likely. No Europe actually helps this year tho.
Gundalf 806
Others may have more quality on paper, but not necessarily on the pitch. For example, in no way Sancho and Anthony are better than Mudryk and Madueke, they are just big name frauds. Norfolkblue1961
