At the time when we bought Shevchenko for 30 million it was some cosmic amount, and now transfers start from 50 for almost any decent player

Yep. When we spent £50m on Torres it was seen as like some stratospheric, game breaking fee.

Now £50m is a common fee clubs pay for any promising players. Not even for someone proven.

If he can play RCB to a high level I'd defiently be keen on bringing Guehi back.

You rate him Tomo? I didn't watch enough of him at Palace tbh.

I do like what I see but it's mainly at LCB so I'm not sure if it will translate to the right, maybe @Vespercould shed some further light.

I also think his leadership qualities could prove valuable in this young team (despite being relatively young himself).

First of all, Vesper will point to his height.

Our incoming activity is worryingly quiet. This Caicedo saga is a fucking joke it really is- he should be with us not Brighton yet we are still no closer to this bloke, it’s a joke.

Injuries are the only things making headlines, we haven’t kicked a ball and after a completely shambolic season everyone around is attacking the market but we are negotiating like we are at a fucking market!

it’s proper fucking winding me up- and I bet before the season kicks off we get two more bad injuries.

Show me a CB that is both better + more experienced than Chalobah, won't cost a fortune, and is content with being 4th choice for the foreseeable future.

He's content but is seemingly interested in moving to Inter. Which one is it?

There - Jérôme Boateng - Player profile | Transfermarkt

A free agent that would tick a number of boxes (if he remains fit) and has already played in the league.

In a season where we had two managers that played with 3 CBs and had European Football + World Cup year.

Chalobah will likely start 8-12 games this season from CB and fullback/DM.

He started 21 games the season before that, so your point is?

I specifically mentioned that I would be content with keeping him this season due to the lack of European football. If he's still on our books 12 months from now, we need move him on or be satisfy with mediocrity.
