Gundalf 806
Tbh a lot of signings in the late Roman era have been extremely bad: Lukaku Saul Werner Ziyech Kepa Pulisic Sarr Higuain (lol) Morata Bakayoko Drinkwater Zappacosta Emerson The only good signings in Romans last 5 years at the club are probably: Thiago, Chilly, Kovacic, Jorginho, Rüdiger but thats about it. Popular Post! Mhsc 1,097 Posted June 7, 2023 Popular Post! Share Posted June 7, 2023 We should be offering Lukaku to Saudi tbh. Try and get him a similar deal to Kante to turn his head, and get rid of him for good. bigbluewillie, kexik, ulsterchelsea and 3 others 1 3

We had two moments that greatly hindered the club's evolution. The first happened in 2010, after winning the EPL, the management didn't know how to renew the squad and we lost the 10/11 championship because of that, since United was weak that year. It continued in 2011/2012 and culminated with the club's weakest campaign in years, but we had a miracle of winning the Champions League. In 2017 our slump began with a horrible transfer market and we are still paying for that mistake today. Buying Morata and losing Costa had a lot of impact, as well as losing Matic and buying Bakayoko. We missed the UCL that year and the following year we had for example to buy Kepa because Alisson wanted a club that would play in the UCL and went to Liverpool (we are still looking for a goalkeeper today). Despite so many breakdowns and it hurt to lose so many cup finals, the club once again managed without anticipation to win another Champions League, which helped boost the club's status. However, we again failed to buy Lukaku and many of the signings were poor Spending so much money on Havertz and Werner proved to be a failure, like so many others (the worst last year was cucurella). On the other hand, City is really strong and it will be difficult to win the Premierleague again. It could be years before we win the title again unfortunately. Vesper 30,175
CIES Football Observatory n°425 - 06/06/2023 https://football-observatory.com/WeeklyPost425 Values Transfer values: Haaland takes the lead Issue number 425 of the Weekly Post presents the top 100 estimated transfer values using the statistical model exclusively developed by the CIES Football Observatory. Manchester City and Premier League top scorer Erling Haaland heads the list with a value of almost €250 million (eventual buy-out clause not considered). Two other footballers under 23 years of age, Vinícius Júnior and Bukayo Saka, who just extended his Arsenal’s contract, complete the podium. Rumoured close to Real Madrid, Borussia Dortmund’s teenager Jude Bellingham is fourth with an estimated value of €190 million (eventual add-ons included as for all players listed). The Englishman outranks Rodrygo Goes and the FC Barcelona’s duo Pedri González and Pablo Gavi (assuming that the registration of his contract until 2026 will be effective). Jamal Musiala, Phil Foden and Kylian Mbappé (contract with PSG until 2024 only) complete the top 10 list. The highest estimated values for players from outside the big-5 were recorded for two Portuguese top talents: António Silva (€89 million) and Gonçalo Ramos (€82 million). The SL Benfica’s duo are ahead PSV Eindhoven’s Xavi Simons, FC Porto’s Diogo Costa, Sporting CP’s Gonçalo Inacio and three AFC Ajax players. More information on the statistical model used is available in this scientific paper. Evaluations for more than 30,000 players in 75 leagues around the world are available via a paying platform. I'd never put Werner and Pulisic in the "extremely bad" category. Achievements alone speak for themselves. They don't belong in the same list with the likes of Bakayoko and Drinkwater. Even Lukaku, and to a lesser degree, Emerson, were employable in the right circumstance. There is more to building a team than merely signing players, a lot more, and I'm not sure the new leadership know how to do that just yet. They may learn the in and outs of footy (with feet) at some point, but I'm afraid it will be a painful process. nyikolajevics and Vegetable 1

The problem with signing Bellingham was not so much a financial one, but rather there was just simply too much competition for him that he likely wouldn't have given us a second thought when the likes of Real Madrid were after him too, especially after the shit show of a season we've just had. Would also assume Bellingham will be on a significantly higher wage package than Enzo is. Vesper and bigbluewillie
