But finding buyers for them feels highly unlikely. Not much point in keeping 19 yo goalkeeper on bench and waste him. He either has to play or go and come back in few years. The satellite club may be an answer to a lot of questions, it doesn't seem to be organized very swiftly though. They still need to find the right club and purchase it. But I’m all for it if we can get a model like that going for real could really catapult us in world football

Mac Allister on the other hand I’d love at the club if the price was reasonable. Problem is the price likely won’t be reasonable as Brighton are flying high and can demand whatever huge fee they wish. Honestly, for Brighton he’s impressed (but their whole team has this season) but I don’t think he was that impressive at the World Cup in all honesty. I think Rodrigo de Paul in particular played better than him in most of the games when he featured. He did play well in the final granted but didn’t really stand out in the other games. Plus he’s much more of an attacking midfielder. If we play 4231 with Nkunku and Felix perhaps keeping Mount, whats the point? I don’t see him playing for us in a 2 man MF. There has to be better suited MF options out there - unless he wants to be in and out the team/on the bench.

I never really noticed him before that tournament. Saw journalists praising him often on social media but didn’t pay much attention. But I thought he looked excellent in the WC. Super tidy on the ball, can get around the whole pitch and contribute, good passing range, and can chip in goals here and there. He actually reminds me a lot of Mount. Solid at everything but not spectacular at any one thing. In other words, the sort of player every coach would want in their team. If the price were reasonable I’d take him without question. But as we‘ve seen with Brighton over the past couple of years they’ll likely hold out for £80m or something.

But as we‘ve seen with Brighton over the past couple of years they’ll likely hold out for £80m or something. De Paul caught my eye because he was very aggressive, got round the pitch, did the dirty side of the game with Enzo pretty well but also was a cool head on the ball. His mould is much more closer to what we need for MF than another more attack minded MFer. I think Mac Allister only scored the once and got one assist there at the WC. But played a lot. For me, he didn’t really strike me as one of their more prominent players. Granted he wasn’t poor but he just didn’t really stick out. He has definitely done more at Brighton this season than what he did at the WC if I am honest. I mean if people fancied him as a player of his Brighton performances I could see it more, but suppose game of opinions and everyones entitled to having one. I think he isn’t really the profile we should be prioritising either way. More need to prioritise someone in the mould of Declan Rice or similar as we need to find someone to step into what would be Kante’s role eventually. Such a price is to be expected, but I'm sure we could get him for less, whether it involves a player (Kepa, Broja, etc.) or pressure from both parties. Pizy 18,927
I really do love how we do indeed seem to be prioritizing another midfielder even after spending mega money on Enzo. And I’d be happy with any of the guys we’re being linked with. Rice, Lavia, or Koné would thrive next to Enzo I believe. Wonder if Mount’s future would affect any pursuit of Rice. Him coming here to play with his best mate would probably override the lack of CL football for a season. But I’m not sure he’d choose us over Arse/Liverpool/United if Mase goes. Think Lavia might be the shrewdest buy, though. Still a teenager and already looks like a 30 year old grizzled vet in midfield.
