I went off the boil (he was damn near the top of my CB wants at one point) ever since that horrid injury, BUT I do fully belive he can filly recover for sure he was, at one point, on an ultra elite list of CB's you I truly lusted over (a couple from way back) in order of current valuation Rúben Dias (wow, are Manure and us kicking ourselves over him, we were both offered him multiple times) Matthijs de Ligt (disappointed at Juve, but likely rebounds in a huge way) Marquinhos (sigh, likely will now never happen unless its a Thiago Silva type situ) (Silva was by far the longest on this list, wanted him for so long, finally gave up, BUT finally we got him, just a shame it was in the twilight of his career) Milan Skriniar (unless he renews, he is free next summer) Alessandro Bastoni (off the boil atm due to his play) Virgil van Dijk (oh, well, we were never going to dump out that type of money) David Alaba (much more as a LB, though, so really should not be on this list) Ronald Araújo (was gutted when we failed this year and he renewed at Barca) José María Giménez (injuries long ago took him off for me) Raphaël Varane (long long ago fell off my lists, I fully admit that Mou long ago raving about him for years put him there) Aymeric Laporte (injuries have stalled him) Wesley Fofana SO hope he blows up Josko Gvardiol (a must buy next year, along with Rice and Osimhen, I think we miss out on Bellingham and Nkunku, grrrrr, and Chiesa is, atm, a huge question mark due to his horrid knee injury) Kalidou Koulibaly (SO wanted him ever since the middle of his first Napoli season, at peak only VVD on this list was better) Nico Schlotterbeck (was gutted we never made a move for him, time will tell if I am truly in despair) Niklas Süle (injuries pulled him off my list long ago, plus I admit @Unionjack influenced me, as he was HYPED for him) Edited August 28, 2022 by Vesper

I have a mexican friend who i saw ask a german friend what he thought of Hitler.so what you said isnt quite in that ballpark but it’s close.. Lots of difference between Torres and Fofana though. Fofana is risky because he’s probably one more serious knee injury from becoming this generations Ledley King at worse,at best Paul McGrath. Pizy 18,918
€100m for a guy who wasn’t even dominant in a poor league, playing for the most dominant team in said league. Antony was t even as good for Ajax as Ziyech was! They’re basically buying the Brazilian Saint-Maximin. Someone with crazy skill and is great to watch at times but without impressive end product. For 100m. Insanity. manpe

Vesper 30,187
https://www.footballinsider247.com/Chelsea-gordon-everton-bid-sources/ Sources: Chelsea offer £25m plus two stars in new £85m bid for Everton star Anthony Gordon Chelsea have offered Everton two stars in a sensational £85million cash-plus-player bid for Anthony Gordon, sources have told Football Insider. The London giants’ latest bid of £25m plus Armando Broja and Conor Gallagher in exchange for the wide forward demonstrates how far they are willing to go to tie up the deal by next week’s transfer cut-off. The Merseysiders have already rejected multiple cash bids from Chelsea as they ramp up their efforts to lure the 21-year-old. Now Chelsea have offered a new solution of midfielder Gallagher and striker Broja plus £25m in exchange for Gordon. The Stamford Bridge pair are both valued at around the £30m mark, means the deal would be worth an extraordinary £85m. Everton are in the market for a pacy striker as well as a central midfielder who can create and score goals. Subscribe The new offer could work for them as they fear being priced out of the market for new signings once rivals know they have banked the cash for Gordon. The latest twist demonstrates how far the Londoners are willing to go to get a deal for Gordon over the finish line. The new ownership regime at Stamford Bridge has been successful in bringing Marc Cucurella, Raheem Sterling, Kalidou Koulibaly, Carney Chukwuemeka and Gabriel Slonina to Stamford Bridge for a combined total of close to £170m. They are also putting the finishing touches to the capture of Wesley Fofana in a deal worth £75m. If we waited and he had another great season there would’ve been many other big clubs after him. Most notably PSG. And then with a bidding war he would’ve cost even more than this already high price we’re paying. oldportblue
