imo he will be playing as LCB in Tuchel system. And in meantime he will be backup if Chilly will have anothey injury. Additionally we can free up Emerson and Alonso. And meantime we are selling Colwill for ~25m with clause 45mln to Brighton. Imo this deal is good in current situation. 
K2 can be moved to central or right spot in 3 man defence.

Doubt 52m would be enough to get Theo. Also did he not repeatedly state he wants to stay in Milan.

Phonsie is obviously a pipe dream. I am not really sure on mendy, esp if CA is playing Rüdiger in his position.

Jose Gaya is absolute pants. zero idea why that dud is always ranked among the best LBs. Bang average player.

But you are right. I think we could have got a ton of LBs for half the price. Cucurella is good but is he really twice as good as Borna Sosa, Raum or Zinchenko?

One more thing i read about the little chap is that he wants to return to Barca one day. Tha's probably why we gave him a 6y contract. They can have him when he is 30.

Sounds to me like someone on the Chelsea side got a bit overexcited and briefed a bunch of people a little too early when nothing is completely done yet. And that clearly pissed Brighton off, hence the statement.

Hopefully they aren’t pissed off enough to scupper this.
