We've outgrown both Jorginho and Azpilicueta.

Monaco set Tchouameni's price: Between 80 and 100m euros

https://www.marca.com/en/football/real-madrid/2022/01/28/61f3ece3ca47417b728b4583.html

But RMC Sport suggest no price-tag has been placed on the Frenchman, however a summer move 'seems inevitable'.

As the race strengthens with clubs expressing their interest, Chelsea could hold a key advantage in the pursuit of the popular youngster.

As per Adam Newson, no club has spent longer pursuing Tchouameni than Chelsea.

Can’t see us selling J5. I think he’s going to be one of those players who stays here for a very long time. Think he’ll get another long term deal.

He’s already slow as a tortoise and painfully unathletic so it’s not as if his game is going to deteriorate significantly over the next 3-4 years. Useful player to have around and I think the club will agree.

Unless he himself really pushes to go.

I swear to fucking god I do not know why we constantly do not buy these young super players when they are still affordable

some players you just look at and KNOW they are going to be great

I do not get that feeling on many but ffs, when I do I am not that often wrong and I do not know shit compared to a 3,4 billion pound football club

many of these predate my time here

de Bruyne (we DID buy smart, (like we did with Hazard and Kanye) but then disastrously sold low with no buyback)

Salah (see KdB)

Koulibaly

Skriniar

Alisson

Youri Tielemans

Barella

Theo

Hakimi (long before last year)

Dušan Vlahović

Aurélien Tchouaméni

only one I really cocked up on in terms of who we bought and who I was excited over, was Bakayoko (although in my defence (not much, lol) the two main players I LOVED off that great CL deep-run Monaco team were Mbappe (by then too late, I am not claiming I truly saw him coming) and Bernardo, and Bernardo is not really a player that would have played as well under us as under Pep, tbf)

You bet he is

its not even close

kounde is a mink David Lutz, an add kid who causes red cards and pens

Süle is as calm and collected as it gets

Have to disagree. Kounde is nothing like Luiz whatsoever. Sule is good but I just don't think he has the mobility to survive the pace of the Prem. Kounde does.

Has 1 red card in club career.

So does süle in more games

What I mean is, Kounde is flashy but he often causes danger instead of preventing it. He often dribbles when he should not and attempts unnecessarily difficult passes when there are better options. It is good he trusts his own skills but he has a history of making rash decisions, has lapses of concentration, easily gets provoked. I would have fewer problems if he was a fullback or midfielder but as a cb i look for players with a more composed mindset and mental control

I think Kounde offers a lot of versatility at RCB and potentially RB.

We saw the very best of David Luiz in a disciplined 3 at the back system so you can assume Tuchel's set up will offer the same. Süle is a very composed figure much like Thiago Silva who I think would partner both Rudiger and Kounde well.

Get both is my answer. A back line of of this would be phenomenal.

Kounde Süle Rüdiger

James                           Chilwell

So no signings then

No first team signings anyway. Not exactly awful considering James' imminent return and Sarr doing a decent job at LB (Kenedy being an option too?).

If we weren't going to bring in first team quality, it's for the best.

Exactly -not light on talent, but the injuries are annoying. Must be bit of a maverick here but always rated Kenedy, just needs micro-managing.

Playing Sarr has kind of stopped clubs from blatantly targeting our left side as opposed to as when Alonso is there, as I expect to see Sarr more now in that regard.

Only issue is that it massively isolates who ever is LW.

Let’s hope this is just temporary. Sarr has only played a few games as lb the last few years, so no problem if he is focused on getting the basis right first before adventuring more forward. He does not need to be brilliant at it. If he achieves the level of azpis or ash‘s contribution I will be more than happy

Could also force James further up and play as an additional #10 whilst Sarr is being utilised solely as an additional defender. Sort of a Yin and Yang.

Would make us kind of lopsided but I think you hit the nail on the head. This is what it will look like at fist. Has the advantage that we can slot back and forth to a back 5 fluently during matches with sarr reverting to lcb and the lw becoming the lwb
