DANILA 290
We won't get Alaba or Oblak. Alaba is unhappy because he doesn't want to play LB so why would he ever come here to play the position? I'd rather keep Kepa and strengthen defense. We're not going to spend 180M on 2 GKs over 3 years Alabama
OneMoSalah 8,886
If we were going to lose Jorginho, we should jump all over Thiago Alcantara. 29 years old but could easily play at this level to he is 33 or 34 as he is purely a technical footballer. 32m apparently is what they want for him. Has won virtually everything at club level Too. Atomiswave
Jype 6,398
2 hours ago, whats happening said: you guys not counting wages into transfer fees or what? I don't think wages are going to be a big problem. The total wage bill is surely down from the last couple of years following the inclusion of club homegrown youth in the squad and some of the higher paid players like Morata, Hazard, Luiz, Cesc etc. all having left and Willian, Pedro + others still to go. But even so I'd say there's absolutely no way the club are paying £400K/wk to anyone not named Mbappe or Messi because it'd totally break the wage structure at the club. At the moment I believe only Kante gets £250-300K/week but after him there is a huge drop in wages and I don't think anyone gets even 200k. A few players are in the £150-180K region (Werner, Kepa) and most of the other first teamers are somewhere between £100K to £150K. If Havertz joins he'll get roughly the same as Werner I would think. However, transfers are not as simple math as @NikkiCFC made it out to be. Club has had to rely on sales and CL money to break-even financially so net spend doesn't really mean anything regarding the club's spending power. Transfer finances are also divided to the contract length and are way more complicated than just "sell player for price of X and buy other player for price of Y" so it's really difficult to say what effect a transfer has on the club finances. But as long as Marina has okayed the signings, they should be financially feasible for the club. Based on rumours she is far from being done so there either must still be a lot of money left or she's super confident of getting good prices for the deadwood again. And I am not saying he definitely is not earning that, just seems highly unlikely. To prove my point, i just put "oblak wages" on google, first result was the following. https://bleacherreport.com/articles/2821923-jan-oblak-atletico-madrid-agree-on-new-contract-until-2023 "AS' Manolete reported in February that Oblak was set for a deal that will earn him an annual salary of around €10 million (£8.7 million)." Don't you think it seems more likely he's earning those wages, versus the ones you listed previously? Puliiszola and ulsterchelsea

AOIRO 64
5 hours ago, NikkiCFC said: I think money should not be a problem. 19/20 season = +100m in net spending. Hazard, Aina, Kalas, Luiz, Hector... Bought just Kovacic. 20/21 for now: -20m net spending. Werner and Ziyech according to transfermarkt 94m euros. We got 74m for Morata, Pasalic and Nathan. So 80m left. If you add loan fees we can afford Havertz for that money and be on zero. Surely we will sell players this summer for at least 100m. Emerson, one CB, Baka, Michy, Barkley... This can buy us Oblak! And than on top of that we can easily afford -100m in net spending this summer. Alaba and Rice. But if we buy Oblak surely Kepa will leave and Jorginho possibly. Even if it is on loan with obligation to buy we can get 100m next summer for tham. FFP (is that still a thing?) works for a period of couple of years if I am right so no issues... What are the weaknesses of this side? or

Why would they say this? It is like they are preparing fans maybe for his departure? And this russian thing is easy to assume it is Chelsea. We need GK and can not see Monaco going for Oblak So basically our interest is confirmed from Tier 0 source and surely Roman and Marina know his salary and if they are still after him it is not a problem for them. ulsterchelsea
