Wonder if we'll have some kind of friendly in midweek just to get the match fitness up for some players. Liverpool are playing a pre-season game right now against Blackpool despite not having their full squad.

Hardly wow I guess but have also noticed Arsenal, Spurs, Brighton etc played friendlies today.

Starting to get a bit worried that we haven't heard anything about Ziyech's injury. Strange how none of the clued in Chelsea reporters have heard anything about the severity of the knock.

Having our two best wide players injured at the start of the season would really blow.

Or maybe it's nothing and he was just taken off as a precaution. He probably would've been subbed early in the second half anyway.

Looking at Ziyech's injury record it looks quite good. Only missed 21 games through injuries in the last 7 years, averaging around 3 games a season.

Hope so. Sam Wallace of the Telegraph just put out an article speculating that his injury might keep him out at the start of the season. But maybe it was just speculation and not something he's heard.

Lets hope so man but sadly we look like receiving an injury every other game under FL and the current medical team.

Surely you can have a couple of thousand fans at stadiums with social distance?

They should do it. In France they have 5000 I think.

And I would go even further...

You always have those rich people who would pay any price for ticket so clubs can have tickets so expensive that 1000 people for example can give you money 40k would give you in normal situation?

So until we hear anything on the status of Ziyech, it's likely we'll only see 2 of our 5 new boys against Brighton in Havertz and Werner. Thiago Silva likely won't have more than a training session or two under his belt before then and Chilwell is not fit yet. I doubt a new keeper will be in by then either.

So our XI against Brighton will probably have a very 2019/20 feel to it. Same poor keeper, same poor back 4. But more class up front.

was always gonna be the case no matter how early we signed the guys, the preseason is so damn short and shortened even more by that batshit international break.

So likely lineup

------------------Kepa-------------

Azpi-----Rüdiger--Zouma--Alonso

-----------Kante----Kovacic---------

-Ziyech--------Havertz-------Werner

-------------------Giroud----------------

would be my guess. Can also see CHo starting for Giroud and Werner as CF.

We will surely concede some sutpid goals but in the first few weeks we have full week breaks so there is still time to iron errors out.
