Lulu could be implemented as a second choice, or even Piazon/Feruz. What we truly need to sign someone of an Anelka mould signing once more, or give Lulu a chance.

gettin some1 of anelka's quality will cost 30-40mil. so square 1.

Look, he is still the best aerial player in the world

He's evolved so much though, that's the reason for his longevity. Sure he can still throw defenders off their feet with a mere push but he's grown so much as a player. Briliant technique, ball control, dead ball ability and so on.

If Drogba wants 2 years, give him 2 years. He's earned what he wants.

Let's not get too sentimental here, 'quit while you're ahead' sees everyone happy.

Fair enough but with didi gone, we have no target man and i know we cant play without a target man. Torres may score a hat-trick vs QPR but against the Big teams (Barca, Bayern), we need a big player who holds up the ball and involves others in attacks. We wouldn't have had even 15% possession without Drogba against Barca.

u Might say there are other great aerial players but who better than Didi? He controls almost every long ball.

Giggs, Scholes, Gary Neville, Ferdinand, Owen, Van Der Sar...........SAF gets the most out of players regardless of age. Drogba still has more to offer.

We can not expect any manager who comes here to be like SAF.SAF is a football legend and not many managers can emulate his abilities.

It'd be a bad idea to let Drogba leave and sign a world class striker in the summer. The whole point of letting him leave is to allow Danny and Lukaku(if not loaned) chances to play as a center forward. There will be no point getting Cavani and letting Drogba leave while keeping our other center forward alternatives.

So if Drogba leaves,I personally don't want Chelsea to sign any strikers because it will be unlikely for the new striker, whoever it may be,to establish instant success at Chelsea and play as well as a 34 year old Drogba.

As much as I'm thankful for his accomplishments over all the years as sure I'm now that it's time to move on, for him and Chelsea, to part ways. A new era has to begin here at the Bridge and it's necessary that Drogs and a few other players leave in order to be able to start this new dynasty.

meant more rounf the fact he cost 10 million and did us a good job. I meant we either look for a striker to be a sqaud member or upgrade Lulu

I was convinced that letting him leave at the end of the season was best but I'm not so sure any more. He's the only Striker who has succeeded since Roman arrived and I would rather keep him in the squad for next season with the new forward starting upfront. I don't want us to regret letting him go like we did when Hasselbaink left because we probably still will need a renowned striker at the club. There is no problem with leaving him in the squad for next season with the new striker in the starting eleven. The only way is if the new striker starts off like a house on fire and lets be honest what are the chances of that ? Leave him in the squad, bring in a new 23-26 year old accomplished striker.

Does anyone think he my retire, if he scores Champions League winning goal and doesn't get contract extension? He always says how much he loves London and his family is settled here, so I really don't think he will move from London. On the other side, maybe move to Tottenham or Arsenal or QPR.

He should still leave at the end of the season...his great performances? Better to end with a bang...

An amazing player, but everything ends. I will be very sad when he does but that's life...

I wouldn't object over a 1 year extensions, but that's down to the club and their transfer plans.

Having both Drogba and Torres and constantly rotating them and facing the dilemma over who should start is not the way it should work...

If he moved to Arsenal, he'd instinctively start scoring own goals.. law of physics.

That's the problem! People are getting so emotionally caught with Drogba till the point they are afraid to move on from the present and look forward to a brand new future! No question that Drogba has contributed a lot to the club since he joined 7-8 years and we all deeply appreciate that but do we really need another Drogba for the next 6-7 years?! Why can't we just have another quality striker and let him be his own man?!

IF we are to move forward and challenge at the very top again, we need to let him go. We need younger and hungrier players that will turn up week in week out in games against Wigan, Fulham, Villa etc and not just cup semis and finals. No disrespect to Drogba of course but that is the case with him right now. It would be better off for both parties that he leaves on a high and not stay further with the possibility of leaving his legacy tainted next season.

Drogba played great 5-6 games this season, while the team played 50+ games.Respect but leave for the good of Chelsea !

and who do you think will replace him? are we ready to shell out another 40 mil for cavani or hulk

(higuain sucks and him coming here wont change anything). do you think we can play torres(even though he is coming back), danny and lukaku and challenge for epl,fa and cl. definitely not. we have to phase dd out and he should be at the bridge for another year.
