Chelsea Legend 11 4,062
Of course but that coming of the bench role will be the main thing the other strikers have to bank on.Diego costa is 25 and can easily play the league and Europe matches. hell, he will be expecting as much. The rest, to start, would have to be looking at domestic cup runs and we all know lukaku won't go for that. All signs will be pointing towards lukaku being offloaded, and costa, drogba, and Torres being the 3.Its horses for courses dude. No one is guaranteed to start any game regardless of the competition. There are situations that will favour Torres, same for Lukaku and other that will favour Drogba. Its not about 1st choice/2nd choice and never was really. The only place to be
Madmax 9,219
Had a pretty good one in 2012. This is different though, we've addressed the exact issues that were crying out to be addressed. The Skipper, kellzfresh and bababoom

Again, this gives us flexibility. Torres is similar to Lukaku and Costa (requires space beyond defences) so he'd be the one I'd lose. BlueLion. 21,491
Drogba knows he isn't going to be first-choice, but the people slagging this signing off clearly haven't seen much of Fernando Torres. Actually, most Chelsea fans haven't seen much of, or from, him. That's why the King has returned. Madmax 9,219
Only because in 2012 we addressed a fair few more! Lacked creativity. We upgraded from Kalou and Malouda but overdid it with bringing Marin (admittedly acquired when CL was a doubt) and Moses in - two who'll move on without 50 games between them. Didn't sign a midfielder, didn't sign a striker. Azpi was a plus, definitely. Matter of opinions but I feel this time we've been very surgical, signing the correct players in the correct positions fitting the exact needs of the squad's evolution. No overkill, no short sell. Pretty damn close to perfect, really. Blue-in-me-Veins, kellzfresh, Tomo and 1 other

TorontoChelsea 4,064
Yes, because Costa was bought to be a £32m bench ornament...Nice strawman. I never said anything like that nor do I think for a second that Costa won't start. Too much does not equate to starting ahead of Costa regularly. Too much means playing more than about 15-20 games total all season.

Popular Post! The only place to be 11,313 Posted July 25, 2014 Popular Post! Share Posted July 25, 2014 As for age, he scored this goal less than 12 months ago. Torres couldn't do this if he tried.
