Tomo 21,751
Bad journalism, Drogba isn't stupid, he has left Chelsea on an ultimate high, because of that we are going to be forever wanting more. He is not going to come back and risk his Chelsea career petering out, absolutely no chance.

There are six league games still to be played, the final round of matches due on 3 November, with Drogba – whose family are still based in Surrey – likely to seek to maintain his fitness ahead of his involvement with the Ivory Coast at the African Cup of Nations in the new year. Manuf 1,448
don't see a problem in loaning him when his season ends just like Arsenal did with Henry. always a treat for the fans and he still has a lot to offer

BluesChick 1,260
Don't get your hopes up just yet, they are helping put Chinese football in the global eye and I suspect they will work to keep them in Shanghai. The reason for all the speculation is this article: http://www.chinadail...nt_15710272.htm The Chinese love the attention that having two big power houses in the sport here. They will fight to keep them. Not to mention, they have done wonders for Shenhua. As for the fact his family is still in England, I wouldn't take that as being significant. There are many expats that live in China who do not bring their families. And many times, families will follow 6 -12 months behind because of the hassle of moving internationally. Moving is a pain no matter what but when you have to ship things to a foreign country it become a nightmare. Also if his contract is a short one 2-3 years, he may have decided that it is best for his family to stay where they are and have stability of being surrounded by the things they know. Unless a child is fluent in Mandarin or very young, the only choice you have are the international schools and they are very expensive (along the lines of college tuition in the US... at a private college). Then you have to get the visa and residence permits and the ease of this that depends on your nationality. While this is probably easier for the likes of Drogba and Anelka, it is still a time consuming and lengthy process. It is a huge decision to uproot your family and move them to a country that they don't speak the language, can't read the signs, and know absolutely no one. Trust me on that one! Tomo 21,751
Stats regarding Drogba in the double winning season.37 goals in 44 games only one was a penalty. The record in England is 41 by Ronaldo and he needed a large number of penalties to reach that, without the pens i think he would have been on 30/31.He missed 12 games. Ironically we won them all scoring 39 goals, which only suggest's he would have helped himself to a fair number himself had he played those games. So if he played all the games and took penalties, add the penalties on top he would have probably got to about 50 and take into account the games he missed and the goals he probably would have scored, is it fair to say he could have quite easily have hit 60-65 that season? nachikethas, capriccioso and Kieran.
capriccioso 2,545
Yep, very fair. He was by far the worlds best striker that season (with apologies to Diego Milito).I wonder if Shanghai would mind if we loaned him every April for the next few seasons, wheeling him out for the late stages of the CL, FA Cup and PL.
