They are sitting far down because if they don't City will just loft the ball over them to Aguero or Sane the way they did a few times in the first half. Its how they have to play because the midfield is leaving them exposed.

Far from a fan of his but Chris Sutton just hit the nail on the head. This is a team coached for 2 years vs a team coached for 2 weeks. Add to that guardiola at least inherited from an attack minded manager in Pellegrini. Sarri has inherited our team from two of the most defensive coaches in world football.

This is going to take time and patience.

Im not happy with Alonso,Luiz,Rudiger, or Morata....but the issue isnt them.

 

We are losing this because of the three of Barkley-Fabregas-Jorginho. They are not doing enough to help us establish the pace of the match.

Fabregas is so slow...He should be on bench.....Morata continues to disappoint....Azpi is average as RB...Rudiger turns like a tank with his so slow passing..He should have closed aguero sooner

Morata has terrible ball control. Doesn't know how to control his body when on the ball

We need energy in midfield (Fabregas out), speed on the flanks (Alonso out) and control in attack (Morata & Pedro out)

Fully agree. Giroud and Bats as strikers. Bats is a pure striker; Giroud would be more in assist role to Bats + defensive role. As he did for France during WC. Morata as nr. 3 or sell it.

GK too, although i guess we just roll with Courtois for one last year. Hope he is motivated.
