Vesper 30,175
Maurizio Sarri channels inner Grinch after Chelsea slip up against Leicester https://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2018/12/23/maurizio-sarri-channels-inner-grinch-chelsea-slip-against-leicester/ At Chelsea there is not much in the way of festive spirit. “For me the 25th is not important,” said the manager, Maurizio Sarri, after his side had lost at home to Leicester on Saturday. “Now I am only interested in the 26th.” Sarri’s transformation from genial, absent-minded professor into full-on Grinch was sparked by a performance he described as clouded by “mental confusion”. His team’s third defeat in their past six Premier League matches had come about through an unexpected inability to recover once Leicester had taken the lead through a typically clinical Jamie Vardy finish. “It’s difficult to understand. We have players with long experience,” Sarri said. “We were in the game for 55 minutes, then two minutes after the goal we were not. If I knew why this was, I would stop it.” It was not just Sarri who was bemused by Chelsea’s capitulation. The crowd, too, found it hard to understand how a side passing the ball with such slickness in the opening stages could suddenly misplace all precision when they went behind. snip

communicate 2,703
Anyone here follow Sarri when he was with Napoli? I have strange feeling about most of his sub, I think he persist of playing one way only. It feel like he using this season to implement his system not to win games. I haven't seen him taking out Azpi or Alonso for a winger/strikrr when we are losing

Unionjack 7,531
This upsets me Maurizio Sarri suggests Chelsea need another N’Golo Kante “At the moment we are too many. We have 28 players and it’s impossible to use all of them. I think 25 is the right number. “You already know my opinion, because I’ve told you in the past. We have a lot of offensive midfielders and we have only [N’Golo] Kante as a defensive midfielder so it’s not easy now for the midfield to have the right balance.” OK That might be all well and good but those offensive MF need bloody upgrading!! Whats the fuckin point of sticking 2 Kantes on the pitch when we are chasing goals? Vybz Kartel

In cup games Sarri has to play RLC-Fabregas-Barkley/Kovacic midfield and it clearly doesn't have any defensive balance at all

Kovacic is not an AMF he IS, however, tailor-made for Kante's position so is Barella Sarri's 4 3 3 is never going to be a correct fit for Kante that is not heresy it's the truth Kante is the worlds best destroyer DMF no other player is remotely close to him at that role it is a waste and unfair to play him elsewhere

Popular Post! communicate 2,703 Posted December 27, 2018 Popular Post! Share Posted December 27, 2018 Am I the only one who think that Sarri has a done a wonderful job with this team ??? He inherited a Conte/Mou team and try to change it into a more possession based and attacking team. The fact that we are 4th surprise me. This is far more difficult job compare to Klopp or Guardiola. Klopp inherited an offensive team from Brendan Rodgers, the same with Guardiola from Pellegrini. Fernando, Sideshow Luiz, manpe and 7 others

Klopp inherited an offensive team from Brendan Rodgers, the same with Guardiola from Pellegrini. I am all for giving the guy the backup and freedom to build the team. What we really must remember is Pep/Klopp have both been in for 2/3 years and have had 5 & 7 transfer windows to set up what they have now. They didn't do it overnight. OK I question some team selections but thats why I'm not a manager. We have shown at time we can and have beaten them both which I doubt many here would have thunk the end of last season. I do question our players personalities. They seem to find it hard to get into a higher gear when needed. They lose concentration pretty easy. Theres no intensity. Whether thats because of the training practices and having too much fun and not being serious enough. I dunno. But they do seem to lack that motivation of sorts. All Sarri can do is select the best team HE THINKS will do the job. Nobody could say he wouldn't do that. So once on the pitch its up to the lads to do their jobs.; I just hope our board buy into what we have started and buys us some GOOD starters to upgrade a few that needs doing. And not a pile of driftwood to stick on top of the deadwood we already have. manpe and Vesper
Laylabelle 9,535
That's the problem. Lately we've seemed to have signed players who don't need or have no impact. Maybe just to say look we've made signing.. They need to spend.. And not drag it out till another club comes in and gets the job done Fernando and kellzfresh

Last summer we signed kepa, kova and jorginho. Three starters. The problem is two summer ago we had disastrous summer (most of us knew it after the window shut) Zappacosta, bakayoko, drinkwater and Morata. One backup rb, two midfielders who won't be here and one questionable striker. Johnnyeye
