Vesper 30,181
Batshuayi spending his holiday hard at work for the upcoming Premier League season https://www.footballfancast.com/premier-league/chelsea/batshuayi-spending-his-holiday-hard-at-work-for-the-upcoming-premier-league-season While the majority of the footballing world is enjoying their long overdue holiday, Michy Batshuayi is hard at work in order to return to Chelsea as fit as possible. His loan spell at Crystal Palace is now coming to an end and if nothing changes in the meantime, Batshuayi will once again don the blue shirt come August. This 25-year-old shared an Instagram snap showing him knee-deep in training as opposed to many of his teammates relaxing and enjoying their holidays. Last season was a bit rocky for this forward – he managed only 11 appearances for Palace, scoring five goals and ending up with no assists to his name. But still, he split his tenure between the Premier League and La Liga throughout his previous campaigns, spending time at Valencia before joining Crystal Palace, both on loan spells, with mixed results. For the Bats, he played 23 games and scored three goals so a return to England was probably the best move for this young forward. His willingness to work hard even though he could be on a holiday is definitely a step in the right direction.  snip MoroccanBlue
MoroccanBlue 5,382
That's good to see him taking the initiative. Knowing we have a transfer ban and it is the perfect time for him to step up. Sadly, he has everything he needs to be a top striker. Except a brain.
lucio 5,418
his goal/minute ratio here was pretty good, was good at dortmund too. he'd grab a fair few goals through the season if nothing else

Good deal for us I would say but we would be short uptop. Vesper
Special Juan 28,141
Like I said, he needs an unreal pre-season, because in all honesty with Giroud and Tammy he could easily be pushed into 3rd choice striker and he won't want that. I hope we keep him. The season can be long, and he is a goal scorer if not anything else. Giroud wont be here after this season, and we will need to buy 2 strikers then. Plus Michy's stock might be at its lowest right now. He really can help us get a lot of extra quids with a half decent season.

We shouldn't be expecting/wanting to rely on someone in their thirties and Tammy hasn't shown anything at this level.

Not even remotely as good as costa at link up play. 😆 so if you thought costa was poor at that, you are in for a wild season...
ZAPHOD2319 4,818
Oh man! The only thing better than landing a good player is screwing Arsenal to do it. Palace wants Michy, and Chelsea could use him and some coin to acquire Zaha and loan Zaha back to Palace until the transfer window opens again for us win win! https://www.google.com/amp/s/metro.co.uk/2019/07/25/chelsea-ready-hijack-arsenals-move-wilfried-zaha-10463388/amp/
ZAPHOD2319 4,818
It seems this deal is gaining momentum. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.givemesport.com/1492473-chelsea-are-now-the-frontrunners-to-sign-wilfried-zaha-from-crystal-palace%3famp  From a Chelsea perspective, just imagine Zaha, a fully fit Callum Hudson-Odoi and a settled Christian Pulisic charging at opposing defences in 2020/21? Scary stuff. And then you have the likes of Mason Mount and Ruben Loftus-Cheek ready to slot in and cause mayhem just behind the front three. The future certainly looks bright for the Blues, despite their transfer ban.

After looking at our preseason games and now Manutd game, we have a lack of finishers in our attack. Batshuayi is our best finisher and should be starting every game. If we managed to score one of our many chances in the first half, we wouldn't have lost that way. Goals change games, forget about the tippy tappy football, we need our best finisher upfront from now on. Goals change games, forget about the tippy tappy football, we need our best finisher upfront from now on.I've been saying that for an age but everyone likes to come up with excuses from A to Z. I want players in certain to do their job rather than have jack of all trades cost after time after time.   Michy can't finish, doesn't offer enough energy, poor hold up, etc. Despite all that, he has the best goal ratio out of the three options. [emoji19] Wonder if it says something about Batshuayi's game as Conte, Sarri did not and now seemingly Lampard do not seem keen on him.  I think he's someone that lacks patience and we can all see why tbh. Third manager in, still nowhere to be seen.   kellzfresh
