Vesper 30,207
Tomori admits to ‘difficult period’ at Chelsea after seeing breakthrough season stall https://www.goal.com/en/news/tomori-admits-to-difficult-period-at-chelsea-after-seeing/8qyal7p9chzw1bq85g1r9wuo0 The highly-rated defender has enjoyed a memorable 2019-20 campaign, but has slipped out of favour in recent weeks and has to earn favour again Fikayo Tomori admits to having endured a “difficult period” at Chelsea, with the 22-year-old defender seeing a breakthrough season at Stamford Bridge stall. Another promising product of the Blues’ academy system was among those to be given a Premier League stage on which to unlock their potential by Frank Lampard early in the 2019-20 campaign. The Chelsea boss knew all about the commanding centre-half from having spent a season working with him on loan at Derby. snip

Jase 43,479
According to that, Tomori could be loaned out next season.

Vesper 30,207
Is Tomori, at this point, so poor, so bad, that Lamps thinks the Shit Triplets (AC, Zouma, Rudiger) are all so much better that he (Tomori) might as well be on a beach already? NikkiCFC 8,331
Not sure what is going on here. Just 64 minutes in 2020 in PL. Plus two FA cup games in January. In one he scored and apart Grosicki free kick it would have been two clean sheets as well. He played just 3 times in the last 23 games. It is weird considering how much we struggled with CBs this season. It's not like Tomori did any worse than other CBs we have. In fact, he was a part of that winning run in September-October. Around Christmas period he played in wins against Spurs and Arsenal away and got completely dropped after. Wenger once said that when you have young CB you play him and you know he is going to cost you sometimes but in the future you have a player. Rudiger, Christensen and Zouma are what they are, they won't get any better. Actually it would make much more sense if Frank forced Tomori this season to play like Mount every game. Especially considering the state of other CBs. After all Fikayo was Derby's POTY. Johnnyeye, DDA, lucio and 1 other

Yep, and he turns 23yo in 4 months or so, so that 'oh he is so, so young and has years to begin to develop' is soon bollocks. If you are not well on yer way to greatness by 23 to 25, the odds fall off the cliff you ever get there. Very puzzling. NikkiCFC

I don't agree with that, Conte tried to play Christensen out of his rut post Barca and it permanently destroyed him. He should have played more than he's done in 2020 but mistakes (that were luckily going unpunished) were starting to creep into his game and it was only a matter of time until he made one as damaging as AC's that night. I remember even the Spurs game he looked rattled, i remember shouting "Fik calm down" at the tele about 4 times in the first 20 minutes. King Kante 1,643
With the way things are shaping up, wouldn't be surprised to see a sale with a buy back option for Tomori.

Strike 7,492
Dead against this. Send out the one young defender in a group of experienced failures this season? Terrible idea. Rudi/Zouma/Chris should face the chop before Tomori even if it is on loan nyikolajevics and Mufassir08

BlueLyon 9,359
I was very pro Lampard, but his defensive record is awful. And Tomori situation. Emerson, Mount, Tammy, Barkley and especialy Rudiger, Ac, Zouma have shit games, but he plays them. Yet he doesnt play Tomori. Given he coached him in Derby, you would think he will give him more chances, like with Mount. But nah... Whenever something like this happens its usualy a thing between coach and player. Whatever, just dont waste Tomori career here ffs.
coolhead23 1,147
Tomori's situation is a baffling one, there has to be something behind the scenes ... He hasnt given the same chances that the others have got and now the entire talk of him going on loan doesnt make sense when we have the others still around. If we have to send him on loan then he needs to be send out to a PL team which will guarantee him game time else might as well sell him after we're done with the existing one. BlueLyon 9,359
Rennes would be perfect for Tomori development. If he doesnt get playtime like he did in last season at the start, either loan him or sell him with buy back clause. Tired of watching players on bench not getting chance. Same with Odoi. Game every 3 weeks is not enough for them. They have to play week in week out if they want to fullfill their potential. Vesper
