So, who the fuck is making the decisions? 1) Best defender, sure. But then who is the competition? A young Zouma and Cahill. Not quite Maldini and Nesta. 2) This season he has struggled a lot. 3) No European football isn't a death sentence. 4 and 5) perhaps we actually do have a manager signed up for next season who is already making moves behind the scenes. Maybe he's the one who doesn't want Terry and wants to keep Ivanovic as a CB?!?!?! Fulham Broadway
LDN Blue 7,903
Fucking hell, JT can't ever go a season without making headlines can he?.. I don't really get it. 29 yo Cahill gets a long-term contract but doesn't play, Terry's 35 can't get a year and is playing every match. Key's in the age though, 35 and the club's trying to make a massive improvement with average age in key positions. Been an honour watching this man lead us through the enormous uplift this club has endured over the decade, through the lows of Moscow to the highs of Munich (somewhat, see opening sentence ) He'll be back, that I've got no doubt about. He knows only Chelsea, he is Chelsea. Kostas and Fulham Broadway
Term-X 7,891
Bitter blow for us, this is taking a massive chunk out of the actually 'identity' of the club. Kind of exciting to an extent, although it will take a long time to get over him, modern football won't make another JT, ever. That's that. This will serve as a slap to the backs of the heads of the people making decisions. I don't think so. They did it with Lampard in 2013, but I don't think this is one they'll be doing. Lampard was contributing with goals and made a more obvious case than Terry will be able to, he's unfortunately dispensable for Chelsea now. It's not like we can't say it wasn't coming. Drogba, Lampard, Cole, Drogba again and then Cech last season? The Champions League winning team is now over, the club has taken a lot longer than it should have to revamp this team. It's not even over yet.

A cretin is a stupid person, and I think it is stupid to cheat. There ya go. I already mentioned the bold part. These are footballers we are talking about though, take away a few exceptions, and each single one of them is probably a dysfunctional human being for modern standards, from the illiterate, to the unfaithful, to the bully and so on and so on. From the sound of things, Terry isn't a role model for how he leads his personal life and he's probably trying to get a reaction from the fans with those statements to the press, don't appreciate that much, but i doubt it's because of greediness/money. That said, from a footballing point of view/his life as a professional, letting him go like this is outrageous. It's like having the best civil engineer building your house, i doubt you'd care about his private life, but you'd go check his professional record. Popular Post! boshman 1,073 Posted January 31, 2016 Popular Post! Share Posted January 31, 2016 The day he plays his last game will be torture. The tears will flow at SB if it is to be his last game against Leicester. We will never see the like of this great man again. The passion and commitment. The love for the club. He is right at the top as a legend for this club. He will have a statue like Ossie. We will see him back here as manager one day I am sure of it. Captain, Leader, Legend. Maybe he's the one who doesn't want Terry and wants to keep Ivanovic as a CB?!?!?! Good points - but still reckon he's the best defender at our club by miles, and unless the Nigerian 'individual' or the next manager already has a handle on two fantastic centre backs it seems stupid. I wouldnt want him to see out his career at SB if he was going to embarrass himself but I genuinely think he's worth at least another year.. Senior people at the club have been desperate to get rid of him for the last 5 years or so. AVB was the first one tasked with phasing him, Drogs and Lamps out. Benitez was following orders to try and work him out and it was only JM coming back that kept him here for another three years, or he'd have gone when Benitez did. I'm sure in six months they'll be desperate to get him back like they were with Drogs. Meanwhile they let Petr Cech sign for Arsenal . You can detect a palpable disconnect now at SB between the fans and who runs the club, quite sad. cosmicway 1,333
Great leader. He will be sadly missed, like Didier. But one hopes they know what they are doing and have an adequate replacement.

Stats 7,142
City need some defenders. Watch them do a Lampard, nick Terry from us and him scored a header next season against us. I called it. Can you imagine. Not a ludicrous thought considering Terry's amazing goal record for a defender. Muzchap

Popular Post! Henrique 9,133 Posted January 31, 2016 Popular Post! Share Posted January 31, 2016 Pretty weird. Ivanovic got a contract extention but Terry won't get one more season. Doesn't make any sense in my opinion. He is not world class anymore, but his presence is still important, specially in a squad that lacks leaders. Maybe something happened or is happening behind the acenes. Spike, Fernando, Muzchap and 6 others

Essien19 1,415
I needed time to cool down and take a look at it from Roman's perspective, there always has, always will be two sides of the same coin... Chelsea underachieved massively in the first half of the season, that's unacceptable for Roman Abramovich, who demands better. We are the Champions of England for fuck's sake...some heads must be chopped off! For some of the members around here Jose Mourinho was the cancer, for them he was the main problem and finally Abramovich decided that the Portuguese had it coming. That could lead to better times, but that's not the only change, it's not that simple, others will follow. For me and others John Terry has always been a great service to this club, he is 'Mr.Chelsea', but what about his relationship with Roman? The personal misbehaviors weren't that kind of a big deal, imo, but the problems John had with some of Roman's former managers, there were times where John made life uncomfortable, imo. That's a thing that the big boss will never forget or forgive. He tolerated it because after the reboots Terry always backed it up on the pitch, but that's over. As i said before the league is already fucked and we won't reach a good position for Chelsea's high standards. Roman wants to make a clean slate and i'm under the impression Roman fears John's influence. I can't remember when Ivanovic had problems with any of the former managers and i think he and Roman are friends. That's what's important, that's how it's done in business...in the end it doesn't matter where you came from, but you must respect your superiour. I would have loved it if the both of them could have worked it out. It's a shame that it has come to this, i think Roman shouldn't have done it, for me John belongs to the inventory. But Roman had his reasons, it's not black and white, sadly... Blue_Fox_
