Rekin 835
Amazing. I think we look vulnerable in the first half quite often, but very strong in the second. What makes me feel good is the knowledge that this team can still get better. Conte instilled the fitness and team spirit, but there are still players he know are better suited to how he plays. It feels great to be a CFC fan now. We play better football than under Mourinho, we get better results than under Mourinho, we get better publicity than under Mourinho and I actually feel like it can last, unlike how it was under Mourinho. I hope the board gives him everything he wants. This is the kind of manager you build a legacy with. Popular Post! MrExcalibur100 7,124 Posted December 26, 2016 Popular Post! Share Posted December 26, 2016 It's the longest winning streak in PL history in a single season. It's the most impressive winning streak ever because: (1) We've faced good opposition. Man City, Spurs, United, Southampton, Leicester, Everton etc All those teams excluding Leicester are in the current top 8. (2) The league is stronger than it's ever been. Unlike Arsenal's 14 game streak, this is in one season not two. (3) The current team finished 10th last season. Regardless of how much of an anomaly it was and the bizarre circumstances that surrounded it, this team finished 10th and has now won 12 in a row. I just hope Liverpool drop points before the 2nd half of the season starts. I feel we should be up even more points to 2nd place. Most of them changed their formation and tweaked their style to test us and we've dealt with each of them pretty well. manpe, Muzchap, Amblève. and 1 other

Unionjack 7,531
I remember in one of his early interviews he was going on about how close the top 6 were by the way of skills etc and you would never see another team go for 10 games without being beaten again. Popular Post! Barbara 15,149 Posted December 26, 2016 Popular Post! Share Posted December 26, 2016 I already wrote most of what I think about him and today's match in Michy's and match's threads, but he deserves all the praise he can get. I was very much okay with the team he chose, even before the match - no moans from me and I think today we showed again the dominance we did before the last three short results. I've read some people complaining about space, chances and whatnot we offered to Bournemouth in the first half, but I've seen none of that. It's not like you won't allow the other team to have nothing. They scrapped a couple of shots, but have we gone so pampered and spoiled that we don't expect us to concede this sort of thing to a team just because they are on the second half of the table? They are a good unit, very well organized and not the kind of the team that will sit and wait for you. their manager has been with them since 2006 (player and assistant coach), and full time since 2012. They came from almost dropping to fifth division only eight years ago to a second year in a row in the highest flight. They aren't those pushovers we faced in Sunderland or Tony Pulis 10-man defense. They are a decent side, that tried to play decent football, but we were just too good for them. I think we went a few notches up today compared to the last few matches and the team doesn't look battered for the next two matches before some of them catch a break. Conte seems to have everything figured out and of course, at some point we will lose the winning streak (hopefully with a draw), but he is confident and so are the players and the kind of mentality he already imprinted to the players in such a short time - especially considering how long they've been conditioned to defend a 1-0 league with all their might and with everyone behind the ball (it precedes Mourinho's second spell). Conte has been magnificent and I couldn't be any happier. Muzchap, Tomo, kellzfresh and 11 others

Popular Post! Henrique 9,133 Posted December 27, 2016 Popular Post! Share Posted December 27, 2016 I'm really impressed with Conte. In the first games he looked really poor, specially with his late game subs. Some people here were talking nonsense about the squad being incredibly bad and even saying Conte wasnt doing good because he did not get he not so world class players like Koulibaly and Naingolan. While I agree those are good players, they lack of them were not the reason why the teams wasnt performing well. Conte was reluctant to use his favorite 3-6-1 formation, and he decided to give it a try after the humiliation defeat against Arsenal. Even after the first good results I wasnt sure about his qualities, since it seemed he was only using the "formation that won the last game". He was playing the same starting XI over and over, but in recent games I realized he is even better than the first good results with this formation were suggesting. Against City he realized he needed to change thing really quickly, so he dropped Pedro for Willian. That was a game changer move. The team went to win that game, 3-1, with Willian scoring the 2-1. Against Sunderland we had no Hazard. Then instead of just replacing him with Willian, he also moved Fabregas into the starting line up replacing Matic. Without Hazard we lose a lot of creativity and attacking power, so bringing Fabregas would help to fix that hole, while Willian is better than Hazard in helping the defensive system, so Matic's absence would not have a great impact in the teams defensive duties. The team went to win that game with Fabregas goal after a Willian assist. Against Palace, Pedro who was a regular starting player for most part of the season was not even used, instead Fabregas was introduced replacing Willian in the 2nd half, because Conte realized that game was asking for more presence in the midfield, something Fabregas would offer more than Pedro. What about the last game? Everybody were just expecting Batixuai to replace Costa, instead he went with Pedro, who scored 2 of our 3 goals. Still 20 games on the cards, but at this point Conte is looking a hell of a manager. kellzfresh, Hybrid Angel, mediator and 11 others
Unionjack 7,531
I know that some of the lads have said that the training is boring but I think its the watching vids over and over they mean. But whatever physical side of training they do its definitely paying off. Theyre running about more than I remember seeing them and on the break theyre like whippets. Moses again yesterday musta wore a groove down the length of the side of the pitch. And the thing I like most is you dont see 1 lad walking round with his head down and hands on hips. jernej93 569
Conte has turned Moses into worldclass wing back, I still can't believe it. He is a beast down that right wing and we need something like this on the other side. Unionjack and DDA
