lionsden 4,689
I predict tomorrow when Manchester United announce Mata, there will be a lot of turmoil in this thread. Before that happens, I will say this: when Guardiola was first announced manager of Barcelona, he sent the entire club's fan base into a frenzy when he declared Deco, Etoo, and Ronaldinho's time was over at the club and they weren't part of his plans. Those were still the 3 best players of Barcelona and everyone thought the manager had gone mad. It turned out that such a bold and defiant move eventually opened room for other less known players of the squad by the names of Xavi, Iniesta and Messi to come into light.Even though this is a completely different situation, my point is that some managers know exactly what they're doing.Personally I will wait and see.Except those players were all past their prime when he sold them especially deco and ronaldinho. mata is still in his prime. some would even argue that he's just approaching his prime and can only get better. apples and oranges. Kezza 1,965
I can't believe Mata is not begging to stay Why would he? He needs game time in order to play in the world cup. Del Bosque ain't gonna choose players who sit on the bench at their respective clubs. As we have seen with Torres Barbara

HD3D 1,038
Except those players were all past their prime when he sold themYou're saying that in hindsight. At that time the average Barcelona fan didn't agree with that one bit. Also, the "apples and oranges" part tells me you didn't even bother to read my post entirely. BlueLyon 9,359
Selling Mata isnt 'wrong'. I am sad because I like him and its terrible to see him leaving. But its obvious when such great player isnt given play time. But selling Mata to United, fucking rival?!?!That is fucked up. Wrong wrong wrong. We are not getting Rooney or £50mio in return. When you sell to rival, the price is heavily inflated. But you say its good because we get 35mio? Well then do something with that money; maybe buy a striker? Or is it so hard to wait till summer? I dont care if we sell him for 5mio less to non-rival...Amazing how Mourinho fucked him up and now about to sell him to United. communicate 2,703
One think I will say about Mourinho regarding mata is that I wish he can find a way to make it work but because we are Chelsea and we can buy almost anybody, he can replace him with player that fit his system better. If he is managing teams like Milan or Arsenal, I am not sure it is going to be the same.

GZ25 45
Haha so true! And what does this say about Mourinho's power and popularity at Chelsea? If, say, Rafael Benitez had a ) decided to sell Mata and b ) decided to sell him to Manchester United, there would have been mutiny and marches along the King's Road.Mourinho's word is law and accepted on trust. He is the untouchable one.Whether he has made the right move in sanctioning Mata's sale to Manchester United remains to be seen.http://www.bbc.com/sport/0/football/25854919

Popular Post! The only place to be 11,313 Posted January 23, 2014 Popular Post! Share Posted January 23, 2014 I like this move because it says one thing - At Chelsea, Mourinho is lord god almighty and the rest of ya'll can go fuck yourselves. This is Mourinho showing just how big his balls are. Fair play to him. We've wanted a manager who actually led this club for years, rather than just some temporary custodian waiting for a pay-off (and I would even include King Carlo in that - except for the pay off bit - who, despite him being a fucking great manager never really changed the identity of the club that much from what Jose established). This season Jose has set about creating a new identity for this club on the pitch and reinvigorated the club. The bad feeling that was here just 12 months ago has evaporated and we have someone in the dugout that we love. We'll miss Mata but this could be the moment that we look back on in decades to come as the moment we finally found a leader to take us to that next level. nachikethas, Barbara, C7S and 2 others
Radu Cristian 4
Mata will complete his £37million club-record move from Chelsea to Old Trafford today. And Blues boss Mourinho will use some of that cash to try to grab £24m-rated French star Griezmann.Source: The Sun
sdrcfc 461
Griezmann is a class act. Still, no one can replace what Mata has done for us the last two seasons. Juan player I'll never stop loving.

So the same people that were singing "Jose mourinho" are going to pull a mata applause similar to a post rdm applause in the face of mourinho? Just to show you that some people truly don't believe in mourinho we trust.
