The Mourinho Thread

Genuine question - What is it about Inter which made Jose fall in love with them more than Porto and (seemingly) us? Was it the CL win and grinding out results especially against Barcelona? The players? The board? The fans? What was the main thing? Obviously we can't know for sure but we can hypothesise.

The Premier League is more entertaining than Serie A and I'd assume he prefers the media here despite their bullshit; He can have lots of fun in press conferences here.

Obviously the Inter fans far surpass our own in terms of vocal support but under Mou we had quite the voice ourselves on match day.

We have a shit board compared to Inter's according to some, not so according to others - but I can understand that point swaying in Inter's favour.

He cried for days (apparently) once he left Inter and there's actual videos of him crying the day of leaving which is something I don't remember what-so-ever here or at Porto and certainly won't happen in Madrid.

I just don't get it.

I believe he prefers Sneijder to Lampard & Zanetti to Terry, but Drogba over Eto'o & co. and Essien over Cambiasso etc.

Meh.

Who said he loves Inter more than Chelsea? i think this all post is a bit too hypothetical.

You belive he prefers Sneijder to Lampard & Zanetti to Terry? where did you got that from?

He's not really coming back . That "better team lost " statement made it pretty clear that even though he's returning to England but sadly to Machester this time .

not true! Mourinho was just angry with his team and said that to get a reaction from his players plus he always shows respect to Fergie him saying that doesnt clearly mean he wants to go to united! he was just playing mind games with his own players imo.

+ it was a fair observation of the game.

I just cannot imagine Mourinho playing with 3 CAM plus a striker.... regardless of how good markers the CMs/DMs are.

In fact I can't imagine winning anything playing the way we've been playing ^^. Certainly entertaining, for bystanders, but not supporters.

I even think some players like (for me) Gary need to reassessed once we get a proper manager with tactics that don't expose our defenders to 1x1 disputes every other minute. I honestly think that all good things of Champions League winner Chelsea are gone.

In fact, i dont care about how José will play, if he wins, that is all what matter.

Ferguson has another 5 years in the game yet. He isn't stepping down any time soon, and I doubt Mourinho would consider taking a sabbatical. Once Guardiola's done with Bayern, he will be the next United manager.

Di Maria, Ozil, Ronaldo, and Benzema/Higuain. That said, doing that in Spain is very different than in England, Real Madrid and Barcelona are so dominant in terms of money and talent that you can play any style and succeed. I think the style he played with at Chelsea, and Inter is the one he prefers. If we want to build around players like Mata, Hazard, Oscar, and De Bruyne, I have a hard time seeing Mourinho as a fit.

No chance, he has another 5 years at least, stubborn fucker who simply doesn't want to leave the game. In feb.. for an interview with the BBC, he said the only thing that could stop him is his health.

The stand was solely to commemorate his 25 years at the club.

Haha, but he's already SEVENTYONE . I don't think he'd be really comfortable with all the travelling and stuff ? I just want him to fuck off seriously, really tired of seeing that cunt traumatizing the lines man, giving unappropiate comments day in and day out and getting away with all his shit with ease.

As a manager he is an anomaly in every sense, age/trophies etc..

5 years more, at least. We don't have to worry about Jose' going there. By the time Fergie does retire, Pep will be all but done at Bayern.

Here's a question for everybody: If Jose is to return here, how much power would you give him? Obviously over the first team training and squad selection. But would you give him authority over the youth academy? Transfers? Medical staff? Player contracts?

I'll give him the full control, he is by far more intelligeant than our board, perhaps he'll not be involved in the medical stuff but i'll give him the same power Sir Alex has at United. Its time to stop fooling ourselves, we need fucking stability, tired to see Chelsea like that.

I don't think it is as simple as that. Jose had almost complete control at Inter, and he completely f***ed them up before leaving. He gave the majority of the aging squad there, like Zanetti, Milito, Cambiasso, Stankovic...etc new long-term contracts on ridiculously high wages. Inter were left with a squad that on the fast decline while being unable to afford to replace any of the players.

We need stability - so let's hire the guy who doesn't stay at clubs for more than 4 years and give him complete control like Sir Alex has (ignoring the fact that Sir Alex didn't win anything for 5 years). When you say stability, how many years of that are you actually talking?

So we give him control of the academy? Why? Are they not doing well enough? Are we not seeing players starting to come through and develop better? It's perfectly feasible (to me) that we could kick off the next season with Courtois, Azpi, Bertrand Chalobah, De Bruyne, Oscar, Mata, Hazard, Lukaku, Moses and maybe Piazon in the first-team squad. That's almost half the squad under the age of 24 who arrived at the club through scouting other clubs or developed internally. We suffered because we didn't do the right things from about 2004 to 2010 - who was in charge for half of that?

And what happens if he leaves after a couple of seasons? Where's the continuity in the club? Or do we rip everything up and start again with another manager?

People always throw up examples like Fergie, but the guy is an anomaly.
