Ashley Cole is set to wait until the end of the season before making any decisions over his future.

Like Lampard and Terry, Mourinho has insisted Cole will be offered a new deal but Chelsea will try to sign left back Luke Shaw from Southampton in the summer and the former Arsenal man has already fallen below Cesar Azpilicueta in the pecking order.

Cole will have other options, both at home and abroad, but the 33-year-old could also contemplate retirement from football if he does not receive an offer that excites him.

If Cole indeeds goes to RM, that means its certain Coentrao is leaving to potentially United, which would not be good for us.

Why wouldn't it? It might actually turn out to be good for us - one less club to compete against for Luke Shaw.

Yes, Luke Shaw the english prodigy just like Digne was for France.

Hardly a player that makes us worried...

OK. Fabio is a midlevel talent.

No, he's an excellent LB but he's not Suarez, or Aguero or Hazard or Thiago Silva or Neuer. No one in history has ever said: "We're screwed; the opposition have Fabio Coentrao!".

That's because he is rotting on the bench to the best (at least top 2) lb in the world....

Fabio would be fantastic replacement for Evra and with his workrate, speed, dribbling abilitiy and crossing, United would be in fantastic position with him. Obviously, they need a lot more than Fabio, however, he would be a good start at the right direction rather than their terrible acquisitions of Mata and Fellaini.

They are going to spend and strengthen whether we like it or not. And it's not like Fabio is a world class player that would change the face of their team. I'm pretty sure that the club does not think about where Fabio Coentrao ends up when doing business.

Fabio is like the third best lb in the world.

Fabio has rejected United 2x already. United want Fabio, its Fabio that doesn't want United.

United need a lb, cm and lastly cbs if jones/smalling don't pan out.

I can't remember what game it was but there was a point in a home match we had just scored and the camera showed Ash sitting in the stands beside MVG and Emenalo. He was like going mad celebrating. It was just so touching to see.

This man has gone from being one of the first names on the teem sheet to not starting a match in the league since January and yet I've never once seen him sulking on the bench. He's normally the one celebrating the most whenever we score.

My respect for him has grown even more this season.

I think he knows that Azpi has been doing so good that there is no reason to take him out and he understands that.
