Belgiannutt 3,201
I read on goal.com that apparently chelsea tells cech that they will be looking to offload him, most probably to Real. Can anyone confirm this? Is this a reliable source? Not happening. Real already bought Navas and they still have Casillas. Would make absolutely zero sense for them to buy Cech.goal.com is about as reliable as the daily mail. Occasionally they'll get it right but the majority off the time they're just making shit up. Sidzeret 2,257
Why then Chelsea extended Schwarzer's contract?I reckon the HG rule doesn't apply to CL.Too lazy to Google for confirmation.

Occasionally they'll get it right but the majority off the time they're just making shit up.It really does make sense though because Navas and Casillas have good reflexes and shot stopping ability but both are poor in the air coming and dealing with crosses. Madrid just sold Diego Lopez (or are in the process of doing so), the only keeper they had/have who was strong at coming for crosses and dealing with them. Cech's always been a very good keeper in terms of coming and dealing with crosses from set plays, open play and corners. Also Casillas is he really that good anymore? Not really. Is Navas good enough to be number 1 at Real Madrid? Also you could say not really.
BlueLion. 21,491
Schwarzer can still be registered for the League Cup, FA Cup and UCL if necessary, that's if both Petr and Thibaut stick around, which I think they will. didierforever 7,349
Why then Chelsea extended Schwarzer's contract?probably cos we were not sure if both courtois and cech will be happy and willing to play 30 matches a season!!! One of them could have not been Happy with the situation and asked for a transfer. We would have been in deep trouble then for a decent back up keeper while letting go off Mark who would have cost nothing and his salary would not be much either. A situation very similar to hilario's contract extension last season.
sherry33 234
Hopefully we sell Cech as much as i like him we can milk some money from his transfer. If he stays with us another season there is no doubt his price tag will go down as he will play way less. generaldane 64
You know as much as I understand why we would need to sell Cech and keep Courtois, I think once Cech is gone I am not gonna be able to help developing a little dislike for Courtois because of it since now that Lamps is gone Cech is my favourite blue
LukakutoStamford 779
I could see Real going after Cech. Navas is a bit unknown and Casillas has been shambolic as of late in goal for anyone he plays for ...

TorontoChelsea 4,064
He's a keeper. His price tag is never going to be high regardless. There are sort of two different economies now for transfers. One with PSG, Madrid, etc... and then the real one. In the real one, even a world class goalie like Cech with some years left in him should go for maybe 6, 7M pounds and even that is expensive. In the high economy one, I really don't know because it's so divorced from everything else. CHOULO19
The Chels 2,502
Interestingly the Telegraph and DM are running the exact same story which is that Real, Monaco and PSG would all be willing to sign Cech if he doesn't play on Monday.http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/chelsea/11035707/Chelsea-dread-bids-for-Petr-Cech-if-Jose-Mourinho-prefers-Thibaut-Courtois.htmlhttp://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2725340/Chelsea-braced-Petr-Cech-bids-Real-Madrid-PSG-Monaco-Blues-keeper-loses-starting-spot-Thibaut-Courtois.html

BlueLyon 9,359
I still think keeping Cech at least until january is vital. If Courtois somehow fails to deal with physicality of PL or for whatever other reason flops, Cech must still be around. Until Courtois shows regualar top performances in Cfc kit, Cech shouldnt go anywhere. It would be too risky. I think it would be great business if we can get 10m for Petr.
nyikolajevics 2,700
6,7M pounds? are you kidding. he's worth atleast 20M if not more. That's not how it works. If we release Cech every team would know that we don't need him so we can't expect too much money for him. Just like Newcastle could charge 35 million pounds for Carroll because they knew that Liverpool need a striker very much in a few hours and they got a shitload of money for Torres. The situation determines the price.
