1. Us failing to get into the cl is virtually impossible. we might be shit but not as shit as liverpool etc.

2. He has a contract until 2020 and most people dub him the best player in epl. That will warrant a massive pricetag, like ronaldo type of money. 100m pounds at least. and he is simply not worth that. also in the long term neither real nor barcelona will be able to compete with the top pl teams in terms of wages. so this is another no.

3. hazard is 24 already and not really anywhere near the best players in the world. 2017 when he will be affordable for other teams he will be 26 and i can't see a team forking out 100m for s.o. who has surpassed his physical peak already.

4. hazard has surrendered his balon d'or ambitions to players like neymar already. who wants to pay 100m for someone with that attitude who does not have the ambition to be the best?

5. he would not have signed a contract that makes it almost impossible to leave if his mind was set on that. we are not a selling club and are in a very strong position here. we managed to keep drogba and lampard at the club for ages and they were the very best in their positions for some time, too.

all in all the lure of real gets vastly overrated. there is a ton of players who rejected them and there will be another ton to do so in the near future. the pulling power of the epl will only increase with the tv deals. i read economists estimate the tv deal starting 2019 to be more than 14m euros over 3 years. . assuming the other leagues continue their growth linearly this new deal will make clubs like tottenham bigger than barca and bayern. rm and barca might still be rich but they can't spend 100m and fail unlike manchester utd can. hence they only spend 100m on the best. hazard isn't the best and never will be.

We all know that sometimes theres no logic in football and teams will pay silly prices, players will take wage cuts and crazy transfers happen. And while I personally see the sense behind your points the personal touch and peoples characters come into play.

IF we dont make Europe, IF we lose Mou then Eden wont have his father figure to lean on and no matter what BS he says in a interview (all to do with the depression and lack of motivation hes in right now) hes full of ego and ambition and has an urge to e up with the big knobs. Barca get their transfers back in Jan, Messi is getting on. By then Eden will have woke up and be firing. A swap scenario is possible. Wages can be worked out on by both parties. Where theres a will etc.

We never know but shit happens.

Do you genuinely think Hazard isn't anywhere close to world class? Care to elaborate?

I do think he is world class. Just not the like 3rd best player in the world like most people on here believe. I can think of half a dozen better forwards or attacking mids: Messi, CR, Robben, Agüero, Bale, Neymar (not necessarily in that order). Disregarding position, I'd put Neuer, Thiago Silva, Philipp Lahm in my top 10 ahead of him. IMO Hazard is in the upper third of the James, Kroos, Modric, David Silva category and hence a bit ahead of the KDB, Ibrahimovic, Lewandowski, Alexis Sanchez, Iniesta etc category . This still makes him world class, a top 5 winger possibly. Keep in mind he is one of the youngest and technically most gifted players of this list but he should still aim to improve to be one of the very very best. He surely has it in his locker but is 24 now and should step it up.

Fair enough. I see where you're coming from. Can't disagree. He had a great season for us last year but yeah, still not really top 3 in the world level.

Disagree. His performance last season was truly something special. To uphold such a high level for an entire season was an amazing achievement.

Messi and C. Ronaldo are in their own league but Hazard definitely deserves to be named in contention for that third best player spot.

Imo, last season, Hazard had the best season out of the four you mentioned ( excluding Messi and C.Ronaldo ofcourse).

Messi wont choose to come here I doubt even if he is going to leave barca .

if Messi leaves Barca in the summer, of course he would want to come here, for Messi to come to England he would want his family to be settled that is very important to Messi, here at Chelsea he would have Cesc and Pedro who would no doubt help him and his family settle, if he comes to the PL it would be between us and City no doubt about that
